Rural365 Automatic Chicken Coop Door - Electronic Automated Opener Panel for Chickens Sliding Door with Adjustable Timer

It has been over a year since I purchased this!! I love it, my chickens love it, and I am purchasing one for my mother. It does take some cutting skills to make a hole for the door but otherwise super easy. The battery life is about 9 months. It makes my life so much easier; I do not need to worry about locking up my free-range birds at night nor do I have to be home to let them out in the morning. It's given me freedom and have kept my birds safe from predators. 10 out of 10 will recommend 100% of the time.

Looks and works great once it’s set up. Can’t skip a step of the set up instructions.Sensor got damaged during a hail storm and it stopped displaying correctly. We had to set it up again from scratch which is difficult enough WITH the display working correctly. Other than that, it looks and works great.

After a few months, we have to replace it. It stopped working on schedule and started opening in the middle of the night. We went through all of the steps to reset it and trouble shoot the issues. In the end, I removed the batteries and closed it. We are back to manually opening and closing the main coop door until we replace this unit with one that works. Don't know if we got a bad unit, but we are definitely switching brands. The problem is that this is very common with most automatic coop doors, and I don't like gambling with $100-$200 and the lives of our chickens.

It only took 10 minutes to install on the door opening. However we tried for a week to get the stupid thing programed! And it's still not right. We got the time set. But it's not clear how to move through the options. So we had the devil of a time trying to make it open at 7:30 am and close at dusk. Next time I will buy one the is easily programed. The metal is very shinny so it was difficult to see on our cameras if it was really shut. So we had many wasted trips to check it. Because the dang thing keep opening at odd hours and setting off the cameras motion sensors. We also had to replace the batteries and it's only been a month. We are going to have to get a different one.

Okay, don’t get me wrong. I loved this door until I had to get some customer service. I lost the manual, and the door isn’t exactly easy to figure out. I asked them 6 times for a manual, and 5 times they told me to send the order number to Amazon. The 6th time, they actually responded to what I was asking for with this, “Some of our customers have found reviews and instructions online”. I was stunned. Also, I really couldn’t find ANYTHING helpful on the web. THANKS, GUYS. I REALLY LOVE MY EXPENSIVE, USELESS DOOR BECAUSE YOU DON’T HAVE A DIGITAL VERSION OF A MANUAL. IT IS 2021. GET WITH THE PROGRAM, SCRUBS.

This product is a game changer for backyard chicken owners! We had been wanting to get chickens, but I was holding off because of the commitment required to let them out at dawn and get them back in before dark. I did lots of research on automatic doors and this product has the best of everything, at a decent price. It is battery operated, can be set to use daylight sensor, timer, or a combination of both. It was super easy to install and had great instructions for installation and for setting the clock/timer. My only hesitation was that it seemed a little small and I was worried about our larger breed chickens, but they have had absolutely no problem popping in and out!

This is a great door, good design, and easy to install! I read some the reviews and was not sure since they were mixed. I received the door and it was pretty easy to install (3o minutes). I was concerned about it being predator proof at the bottom of the opening. It includes a metal piece at the bottom that covers the lip so predators can't get under the door to lift up. Very easy to program. You can set it to open and close based on time or light (not both). It took a couple of days for the girls to get used to but not they are in the coop before it closes every time! I would recommend this door to anyone.

The media could not be loaded.  Have had this about a week and so far so good! I have it set to open at 12 (lunchtime) so the stubborn chickens will lay their eggs in the nesting box vs around the yard. And it closes at 15 lumens (dark). I ordered the regular chicken door and our chickens (Easter Eggers, barred rocks, Columbian Wyandottes, buff orpingtons, French cuckoo Maran rooster) all fit no problem.. we also have 3 ducks that fit fine, the largest is a Pekin.I installed it on a piece of plywood that I zip tied to the fence of their run.
