Well organized, thorough review of dermatology while maintaining clinical and conceptual relevance.
Spend a couple months in dermatology residency and you will quickly learn that there is an extraordinary amount of information to organize and assimilate. One of the challenges is sorting through the relevant versus obscure, and trying to integrate this with clinical practice. Like many other "review" books out there, Jules Lipoff's book provides numerous lists and associations to memorize for the boards (albeit better and in a more exhaustive fashion) but also organizes the vast amount of information in dermatology into clinically relevant and conceptual chapters. It manages to function as a go to review book while also providing a framework to approach morphology and differential diagnosis in clinic. This is a great companion to exhaustive and wordy texts like Bolognia, distilling the relevant information into a more digestible yet still thorough framework. On another note, I was happy to discover they did not cut corners on the paperweight this book was printed on. My only knock is its pretty bare bones formatting, although its purely my aesthetic preference, and does not detract from the organization or readability of this book.

Just text but perfect for kindle
A few typos here and there, but a solid review book that is useful as a quick and dirty tool and to help sort differentials and full of mnemonics. No pictures, but easily the best kindle version review guide.

Excellent, concise and memorable review of Dermatology
Dr. Lipoff has done a phenomenal job of condensing and simplifying an immense amount of high-yield topics within Dermatology. His mnemonics are extremely helpful and memorable, and will help current residents retain many of the most testable factoids for the Board exam and residency in-training exams. This book is a must-have for all dermatology residents and for those preparing their MOC exams!Thomas L.H. Lipoff's mnemonics and categorizations of diseases are so helpful in learning dermatology in a high-yield yet easily digestible
As a dermatology resident, this book is invaluable. Dr. Lipoff's mnemonics and categorizations of diseases are so helpful in learning dermatology in a high-yield yet easily digestible way. It helps prepare you for the boards but also guides you as a clinician. I have recommended this book to my co-residents and will continue to recommend it to anyone interested in dermatology.

Good review book
Good board review for the dermatology resident or dermpath fellow with clinical review in mind. Some mnemonics I hadn't heard of. Note: whole book is text, look elsewhere for pictures.
