Was a tight fit, but I was still able to close the vacuum and it works great.

My Dyson DC35 had been acting up, it would stop and start when I would push the button and it was getting very frustrating. After doing some research I found out it could be one of two things, the battery contacts might need to be cleaned or the filter might be having issues.I know that I have been bad about cleaning my filter in my dyson because when I clean it I have to wait at least 2 days before I can use it again and I have 2 dogs, a cat and 2 kids, I can't be without my vacuum for 2 days. So, when I took my filter out I knew that was the reason my vacuum wasn't working right. I tried rinsing it but, again it took 2 days and it smelled really bad. I knew it was time to get a new filter.This filter is obviously less expensive than the replacement from Dyson. It seems to be a little thinner but that might be because my original one is obviously gross. This fit in my vacuum perfectly and helped a ton. My vacuum does still start and stop but not anywhere near as much as it did before so next I will try to clean the connections.I have not tried to rinse this yet to see if it dries quicker but if there are issues I will update this review. For now I'm very happy with this purchase.

Received this today, and it's pretty identical to my oem dyson filter in my dc35. There were a few size discrepancies between the two and I did have to cut off the tab to close the pieces back together like others mentioned doing. I posted a picture to show around the top and bottom sides how it just left a smidgen of space but upon further inspection I believe it still covers properly underneath that so that no particles end up in the motor part. Overall this worked well although I must admit that I only used it briefly so I cannot arrest to long term usage. I bought this as a last ditch effort to fix my dc35 as nothing else I've tried has helped with it intermittently shutting off. Sadly it didn't work and I'll probably have to shell out more money on a new one. When I do though I can say that I'll be buying THESE filters instead of the pricey dyson ones that are THREE times as much! Overall a good product, wish it fixed my problem but I can't blame this one for dysons shoddy workmanship! Buy this one it will save you money!! Haha!

When my vac suction practically stopped one day, I opened it up to see a worn-out filter. Took two tries to close the door for this filter after replacement, but that was because I was a little too anxious. It's very good quality and you get what you pay for. Based on how often I switch these things out (like.... uhm... never), it was a good deal and I'm happily keeping the house clean again!

I saw a previous customer that was having the same issue as I was having with my Dyson vacuum. Apparently, the rubber on the filter can wear and cause issues with the vacuum starting and stopping repeatedly. I purchased a new filter and a new battery. It did the trick. I have my vacuum back. This company was good to work with. I received the filter right away, even faster than expected. I would recommend and I will be using them in the future.

I ordered this along with a replacement battery for my Dyson DC35, and it works great. I did not have to make any of the modifications mentioned in other reviews; mine was a perfect fit. It definitely improved suction... I'd washed the old one many, many times, but I don't think they ever get truly clean. Changing the filter also freshened the air output from the vacuum.I would definitely recommend this as an alternative to the pricier Dyson replacement part.

Not quite as nice as the Dyson, but much less expensive & works fine. Great to have so that you can wash one, pop in your second, & be able to continue to use the vacuum while it dries. As others have mentioned, I had to cut off the pull tab in order for it to work in my machine (the tab on the original part folds back onto itself where on this one it sticks out to the side making it impossible to reassemble the unit).

It fits my DC35 and appears to be perfectly identical to the original manufacturer filter. Very happy with the price.The tab some reviewers are complaining about is also on the original filter. It's there just to make it easier to remove the filter from the vacuum. If you just fold it inward, you should be able to get the front plate back on without any issues, but you can also cut it off if it bothers you. Just don't cut into the gasket.
