Lowest White Boy (In Place)

Good read
So relavant to our country now. Growing up in Vermont in the 70's I didn't see racism because my area was just about all white families. The authors memories were an eye opener for me. The authors mother was brave and insightful. I would definitely recommend reading.

Start here for understanding systemic racism
An excellent read that would pair very well with Ta-Nehisi Coates' Between the World and Me. This book is the insightful perspective of a white southern man reflecting back on his childhood. It is written in the Trump era and juxtaposes very nicely with the more provocative and urgent tone that Coates writes with in his letter to his son. If you are someone thinking about putting your toes into learning about systemic racism, this is a very reasonable starting point before you move on to more exhaustive works, or those with more searing language.
