Fits and works like OEM
Received and installed after prep and bench bleeding. Perfect fit and function for my 87 Toyota pickup. Good quality at a fair price. Easy installation with just a few basic tools. After a couple weeks of daily use, I can recommend this master cylinder. No leaks and a firm pedal.

seam like there is a year change on this with Toyota, mine has the lines coming out the side and this one had one on the side and one on the top, had to get a 1984 model even though it is an 85 model. mine was made in Aug 84

Great Quality Master Cylinder
I bought this master cylinder for a 1981 Toyota pickup. When I got this master cylinder to install on my pickup, I can tell this is a well made quality master cylinder. This master cylinder showed no signs of leakage or loss of hydraulic pressure like a cheap rebuild/re-manufacture master cylinder would do. After miles of using the dorman master cylinder, it is holding out strong and I would definitely buy another one of these for my other Toyota pickup truck. If anybody is reading this, please don't buy those cheap re-manufactured master cylinders. They don't last very long and you're better off buying a new master cylinder (I've learned this through years of rebuilding vehicles).

Quality Master cylinder with an installation quirk to watch out for...
I purchased this item to replace the brake master cylinder on my 1988 Toyota pick up truck, which was leaking. It is about 6 months since I installed the item and it has been functioning perfectly. I would have given it 5 stars, except for an installation issue I ran into. I used the parts selector tool, so I was expecting a drop in replacement. However, the position of the connector for one of the hydraulic lines is located differently than the original master cylinder in my truck. Since the hydraulic lines are steel tubes, this created a challenge. Fortunately, I was able to bend the line around and connect it. Those who are not mechanically inclined may find this a bit difficult. Bleeding of the system was pretty straightforward, by following the instructions that came with the part. Quality of construction appears to be very good.
