Great healthy recipes.
I love this book! The “Chicky Seasoning” recipe is worth it for the price alone! Highly recommended.

There are MUCH better vegan cookbooks out there.
I received a complimentary review copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. My thoughts and opinions are my own.The author relies heavily on grated ginger, cilantro, garlic, chili and curry as flavoring ingredients. These are flavors that when used in the large amounts suggested will completely overpower the dish. If you want to mask the flavor of your beautiful fresh vegetables then maybe you'll enjoy this killing-the-senses style of cooking. She also relies heavily cashews and potatoes. Most of the recipes have ingredients that your average vegan will keep on hand, but many call for unusual / uncommon ingredients as the star of the dish. The recipe for very vegetable soup is severely lacking in vegetables. It calls for basic soup base veggies like celery, carrots, onion and tomato. Aside from that the only vegetables added in are corn and peas. She also calls for tomato sauce instead of crushed tomatoes which is pretty odd and unappetizing for soup.I'm not a fan of her writing style, personality or her cutesy spellings "mylk" instead of milk, "chicky" instead of chick pea, referring to things as "creamy dreamy" etc. I could easily overlook that if the recipes were great, but unfortunately they're not.Bottom line: the flavors and recipes are not great. If you want a great vegan cookbook look up The Minimalist Baker.

"Additionally, this book calls for ingredients that I don't normally have in the house..."
I received a complimentary review copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. My thoughts and opinions are my own.Do you like cashews? If the answer is no, this is not the cookbook for you. If the answer is yes, please continue! HEALTHY VEGAN, HAPPY BODY is FULL of recipes that require cashews, so definitely have them on hand (raw and unsalted) before buying this book.Additionally, this book calls for ingredients that I don't normally have in the house, so a grocery shop was needed for some essential items (including the aforementioned cashews). Examples: celery seed, lemon pepper, ground white pepper, sunflower oil, whole-wheat pastry flour, unsalted almond butter, finely grated beet. I have three small kids, so quick and easy are how I normally like my recipes. The majority of these are NOT quick and easy, but they do let you know which ones require you to "plan ahead." It was a nice addition for people like myself, who dive headfirst into a recipe without reading all of the directions first (I know, I know), especially when they say the prep time is 5 to 10 minutes. Some of the steps need to be done the day or night before, so I'm glad the book makes you aware before jumping into the recipe.HEALTHY VEGAN, HAPPY BODY isn't a cookbook I will use often, since most of the recipes require their own trip to the grocery store, and that's just not something I want or have time for (even if we weren't in the middle of a pandemic). However, the recipe for WATERMELLON LIME COOLER is one I see myself using a lot this summer.

Truly tasty recipes but very few pictures
Healthy Vegan, Happy Body is a recipe collection and cookbook for whole food plant based meals by Tess Challis. Released 26th May 2020 by Callisto on their Rockridge Press imprint, it's 242 pages and available in paperback and ebook formats. It's worth noting that the ebook format has a handy interactive table of contents as well as interactive links. I've really become enamored of ebooks with interactive formats lately. For Kindle Unlimited subscribers, this book is currently included in the KU subscription library to borrow and read for free. The recipes are arranged thematically, an introduction with general directions for prep-work and pantry ingredients is followed by chapters for smoothies juices & shakes, breakfast, snacks and sides, salads, soups & stews, handheld food/wraps, rice & noodles, special occasions, desserts . Each of the recipes includes an introductory description, ingredients listed in a bullet point sidebar (US measurements only, no metric equivalents), and step by step instructions. Nutritional info includes calories, fat, carbs, fiber, protein, sodium and micronutrients . Variations and alternatives are provided at the end of the recipes. There is a resource list, bibliography and related reading links, as well as a metric convesion table at the back of the book. Most of the ingredients should be available at any well stocked grocery store although some might need to be sourced at specialist (vegan) grocers. My main quibble with the book is that the recipes are mostly not photographed. There are some photos, and they're clear and attractive, but they only represent about 5% of the recipes included in the book. It is, however, a very well written book full of family friendly plant based foods many of which will also appeal to non-vegans.Four stars.Disclosure: I received an ARC at no cost from the author/publisher for review purposes.

Satiated my curiosity about plant based diets
I received the Healthy Vegan, Happy Body: The Complete Plant Based Cookbook for a Well - Nourished Life because I have been very curious about non-meat or dairy diets. The recipes that were included in this cookbook made the switch seem easier than I thought, however I am not sure I could go dairy free. (I love cheese, too much). But, healthy alternatives were offered that seemed like I could give it at least a try. For those who are considering going plant - based this book is definitely a good start.I received this book as a reviewer for the Callisto Publishing Club, the opinions are genuine and my own.

No photos
Wish I knew there were almost no photos of the recipes before purchasing. This is just a personal preference but really effects if I enjoy a cookbook.
