Humidor Humidifer Tube-Set Your Humidor to 70% Humidity …

I had a cigar box that it needed humidifying. I got this it works great. But you have to fill with water every a couple of days. I ditched it for another self-humidifying box.

The Drymistat does its job exactly as it should. Other reviewers have more experience, so I defer to them for details of effectiveness. By the way, the thickness of the tube is ~the same as a cigar tube, and it is 5.5" in length. The instructions advise placing it in the center of the humidor.There is perhaps some understandable confusion because the instructions could be written better, and that is why a few reviewers had problems with leaking: "Some evaporation may occur while sitting on the shelf. Remove wrapper. Add plain tap water to the Fill line. Put perforated cap on tube and wait for water to be absorbed. . . . A mixture of Propylene Glycol and water has been specially formulated and initially charged into the crystals."When you receive the Drymistat, pop the cap and take out a crystal. You'll notice it is moist. This is the "initial charge" referred to, and the amount of moisture will depend upon, as the instructions say, how long the item has been sitting in inventory. The instructions mention that the tube has microscopic pores which permit moisture to pass thru; this is why there can be evaporation. All that's required is to add a small amount of water - if necessary - to the fill line and then leave the tube upright with the second perforated cap on, until that water is absorbed by the crystals, which is pretty quickly. Turn the tube upside down and gently shake it or very gently squeeze it, and any excess water will come out. Now place in humidor and there won't be any leaking. The crystals will shrink as the water transfers to your absorbent cigars or whatever. Refill when crystals shrink below the lower line on the tube. That's all there is to it.

I am by no means a cigar connoisseur or a cigar master. I honestly don't even have a hydrometer.This tube works wonders for my humidor of about 20 cigars. The cigars stay soft and don't dry out, they still smell good and fresh.After unwrapping all you have to do is1) take off the plastic cap2) fill with water up to the line (some folks only used distilled water)3) put on the cap with holes4) let it rest for a minute or so (so the crystals can absorb the water)5) and viola you put it in the humidor and enjoy fresh cigars!I noticed that I need to refill the tube about once a month. Then after 2 years or so I just get a new one.this has no odor and the crystals wont hurt you if accidentally spilled.I took away 1 star because sometimes it takes some time for the crystals to absorb the water, otherwise there are no negatives.So if you are a beginner, or don't feel like messing with hydrometers and thermometers and whatever else, this tube will be a great purchase. I have friends who have 50 cigar humidors and they use 2 of these and say it works very well.Cheers and happy puffing!!

After a few months they have not showed any sign of evaporation. I don't know if they are working or not. But, I live in Florida where it is very humid - and the cigars are doing fine. So, I guess they are okay.

It work well in my humidor. Kept right temp and cigars rested well.

Bought this about two years ago to go in a cedar wood portable. For months, maybe a year or more, it did absolutely nothing - no humidity, no shrinkage in the crystals....nothing (yes, I had opened it and followed all directions, even primed the portable). I'd given up on the this along with the portable unit. I had forgotten I even had it on my shelf until six days ago, when I found the portable unit and its hydrometer read a *perfect* 70% - couldn't believe my eyes. The crystals had started working sometime after the first year and now I'm keeping about five cigars in it. Just filled up for the first time and very easy. It does exactly what the description says, it's simple, and is very low maintenance. I don't know what went wrong initially, but I'm happy I got what I wanted, even if it was a year later. Knocked off a star for the year of uselessness, but happy to say it's exactly what I wanted.

I have a small travel humidor and a 5-stick hard case, and these are perfect for those applications, as they are no bigger than a single cigar and will adequately humidify a small space. I keep a small cedar strip between the tube and the adjacent cigars, but this isn't really necessary, I have let the tubes rub up against unwrapped cigars before with no ill effects. I have tried using several of these in larger boxes and can't recommend it - multiple tubes cost a lot more than the 2- or 4-oz jars, and just don't seem to keep the humidity up as consistently. My guess is that the jars expose greater surface area, but that's just a guess. Anyway, if I put 4 tubes in among 100 cigars in a wooden humidor, the cigars will be 'crackly' after a few days. Buy one or two and use them in your travel humidor or clamshell case. It will no no harm whatever to store them in your regular humidor, and they will be ready to go when you need them. Only 4 stars because they are sort of expensive.

Does a great job keeping my cigars at the right humidity level. Hassle free, just fill it up and it's good to go.
