At Marmara, we take great pride in ensuring our delights are made from real fruit extracts and protein rich nuts. Our Turkish Delights are eaten as dessert or teatime treats. So, indulge your sweet tooth with fruity flavors or nutty morsels and share the delight! *Our Premium varieties consist largely of chopped almonds, pistachios, and hazelnuts or walnuts bound by the gel-like sweet treat; traditional varieties are often flavored with rosewater, orange, or lemon. The confection is often packaged and eaten in small cubes dusted with icing sugar or coconut to prevent clinging. In the production process, soapwort may be used as an emulsifier. It also gives the same texture and taste as marshmallows, but all vegetarian! The origin of our confection is known to be during the Ottoman Empire in the 1700s. The story is that the Sultan demanded his chefs to create a new dessert to have with his tea that was soft and chewy. They came up with the first ever Rose flavored Turkish Delight. It was soft and did not chip the Sultan's tooth, and so it became a lovely, sweet treat to enjoy.

Everything's coming up roses!
Packaged beautifully in an attractive box, perfect for gift giving. But no, this is a gift to myself!I can't say that I love Turkish delight, unless it's filled with nuts and/or dried fruit. but I do love any candy or dessert that is fragranced with roses. At only 11 pieces, it's kind of expensive, but this is one of those little luxury treats that I like to indulge in every now and then.As soon as you pop one into your mouth, that lovely rose taste and fragrance brings you to paradise. It's like sweet rose water in a gel form.Since I like Turkish delight with nuts, I decided to put one of these squares along with a couple of whole almonds in my mouth. Oh my goodness! The combination of the two is amazing, so I highly recommend trying it if you like both rose as well as almond.Extremely fresh and soft.

Surprisingly good.
Surprisingly good. There's too much sugar powder. When I tear the plastic off the box, a lot of sugar powder fell out so be careful when opening. There's not much powder inside the box. It probably all fell out when I opened it. It has very strong rose flavor almost like perfume but doesn't make me feel like want to throw up. That was the first thing I was worried about the most. It is very sweet too. I would eat slowly and little bit because the sweetness might become unbearable. The texture is quite nice. It's soft, not hard and not super sticky. After opening, there's no seal or tab to close the lid. It doesn't even close all the way. But I'm okay with it. This might be too sweet and too strong (purfumey taste) for some people.

Premium product, premium price.
Excellent Turkish delight. The rose flavor starts out mild, but blooms as you finish the piece, very satisfying. Sweet but not cloying. As some have noted, it is an extremely small amount. The box- nicely giftable- is packaged to be much larger than the actual holding area for the candy. I received 9 pieces for just under 8 dollars. Im sure the complex crafting is worth it, but not sure I can justify the cost of a regular purchase. However, I really want to. For this reason alone, I am giving 4 stars instead of 5.Absolutely perfect paired with a good iced Earl Grey tea.

Not Bad, But Not Memorable Either; Heavy Powdered Sugar; Different Texture
Initial Thoughts:-nice packaging, but was a huge mess once opened and the lid doesn't stay closed. Powdered sugar was EVERYWHERE under the plastic.-counted 14 individual delights. Appearance of the treat itself was pleasant.-very different texture than other turkish delights. These are MUCH firmer, quite dry and very chewy. Unexpected, not unpleasant but was hoping for something else so was left a bit underwhelmed.-could not taste the flavor under the mountain of powdered sugar. Had to shake off / dust off most of it to eat it. Rose flavor was very light and enjoyable once I got past the sugar, but would have loved to taste more of it.-was a little sweet for me, could only eat one, but taped the box shut and kept the rest to try again later.General Conclusion:3/5 stars was generous for this treat. Absolutely NOT terrible, but definitely nothing special, didn't have me wanting more. The amount of powdered sugar was a little intense and the rose flavor fairly weak (I realize rose flavor is light to begin with but I've had rose turkish delight before and the flavor could definitely be better). The box itself and presentation is simple but pretty, but the second you up open the plastic the powder flies at you and it's a mess. The texture wasn't what I was looking forward to, but it wasn't BAD, it was just different. The seller is wonderful, my qualms are only with the product itself.I would not recommend this product to people based on taste, texture and packaging.

Authentic taste.
My girlfriend is from turkey and here in the US it’s hard to find this kind of delight. After her telling me about how this is her favorite I ordered this for Valentine’s Day and she was thrilled at how good they taste. Compared to he delight I’ve had growing up this is one of the better ones. I prefer citrus flavors myself. The aroma from opening the box is of fresh roses and for me having tasted it for the first time I would say it tastes the way a rose smells. It’s very good, it may be more of an acquired taste for me to enjoy it more but it wasn’t a gift for me anyway. The packaging was really nice, however there was a rip in the inside plastic. The inside plastic is to just keep the box on the inside of the bigger box less messy but since it’s wrapped twice there was no mess I just figured I’d mention that since I’m glad it was double wrapped.
