Factory Replacement - Best way to go
Genuine Suburban part which makes it the best option for the longevity of your water heater in my opinion. Easy to install. Be sure to use some teflon tape so the job is easier for the next time you need to replace. These typically only last a year depending on where you travel and water chemistry. When changing the anode, take the opportunity to flush the water heater. And when you refill with water, open the pressure valve to quickly fill the tank and reduce the air in your water system!

A great long term maintenance item
I replace mine every two years. It will go longer but by time I take it out to check it, it is easier to go ahead and replace at that time. Just not worth the effort to check it again. I consider these a long term maintenance item. If you go much longer the rod will be completely gone and then the tank will be corroding. Also make sure to get the magnesium anode, the aluminum anode is cheaper but it will not protect as well. Consider the cost of a new water heater, it makes sense to use magnesium rods and avoid the aluminum. While the anode rod is out it is a good time to go ahead and use a hose end hot water heater rinse attachment. A surprising amount of stuff will rinse out. If by chance you order one that is too long for your tank all that needs to be done is saw the excess amount off. I am a repeat buyer of magnesium anode rods.

A Fat Anode. Don't neglect hot water heated preventative maintenance.
It's an Anode. A Fat Anode. Used to sacrifice itself in place of your RV's hot water heater.Easy to install as long as you let the hot water cool and you relieve the pressure. This unit came with the teflon tape already wrapped around the threads.

Good value. Smart maintenance!... AND replace the T&P at the same time.
Definitely 5 stars, but "Love" is a little strong for an Anode rod. These Anode rods are in every water heater. They function as a sacrificial rod to protect the tank of the heater. Detrimental particles in water are prone to attack metal. If the Anode rod is used up or taken out, these particles will attack the inner walls of the steel heater tank. You will know if the rod is depleted when there is only a bare wire left attached to the hexagonal plug. Also, while you're replacing this, replace the T&P valve also. It is the temperature and pressure safety valve. I installed a Watts 100XL. A Cash-Acme brand from the big-box stores will work also. That valve will protect the tank from excessive pressure and temperature, possibly causing a steam explosion.

Anodes are very important.
I drained my RV water heater, found my anode completely eat up. Found this one on Amazon at a good price and I received it really fast. Will save me from having to buy a new water heater. Very pleased with transaction.
