Time for Consumption of Mass Quantities
Have enjoyed this movie for a long time, so it was time to get the Blu-ray.For those who don't know, Coneheads is based on an old Saturday Night Live skit about an alien family living on earth. Beldar and his "Geneto-Mate" Prymaat were part of an expedition to scout Earth as a precursor to invasion. When their ship malfunctions and crashes in the East River, they're forced to blend in with the people of Earth and make the best of things. You'd think it would be difficult with those large conical heads, but surprisingly nobody seemed to care. After giving birth to their daughter, we fast forward to the present where she is now a high school teenager and then the problems really begin. This movie is just silly fun. Most of the gags come from the over the top gags of these people who are clearly Alien who are quickly accepted into society (except for an over zealous Immigration Agent who dogs them for most of their stay). My favorite gags are by Dan Aykroyd as Beldar with his crazy method of speaking and doing everything to excess from smoking an entire pack of cigarettes simultaneously to the fireworks display at the football game to his "Consumption of Mass Quantities".This movie also has a lot of heart. At the end of the day, we have a couple who loves their child to no end and want to provide only the best for her. The heart to heart (or blood valve chamber to blood valve chamber) discussions between mother and daughter are the best. Also, let's not forget the abundance of SNL actors both old and new that appear in this movie. Even non-SNL actors like Drew Carey, Ellen DeGeneres, Sinbad and Dave Thomas make appearances. It's fun to count how many actors and performers had early starts in this film before they were famous. My only complaint is the lack of special features. All the Blu-ray has is language setup, Chapter selection and the Theatrical trailer (which does show scenes that don't appear in the film). I'm sure they could have done much better. All in all, this is a fun movie to watch and recommended for fans of 90's comedy and SNL.

Heartwarming, Wholesome.
As a Dan Aykroyd fan I knew I'd end up seeing The Coneheads. I'd seen the cover at Blockbuster for most of my young life, but never rented it.Too bad, too! It's so adorable and sweet. Beldar is an EXCELLENT father and Dan Aykroyd is amazing in his role. The lines are fascinating, as is the world building. Jane Curtin really shows how talented she is as well by being able to keep up with Dan. They are absolutely fantastic together and I'm in awe of the sheer talent the two possess. It's such a cute movie. I cannot stress enough how warm and cozy it feels. The Coneheads are a good family and love each other very much. It's an easy watch and just might become your comfort movie. The premise of aliens might be strange to some, but if you've felt out of place in life...this is for you! So glad I finally watched it.

This is a pretty good movie The only problem that I have with the movie is it is it just a little sexual content and when the his wife is laying in the bed reading the Bible and laughing as if it was not true God's word is always true will always be true and that is forever and Final

A Classic
When this film was released in 1993 I was only 7 years old and I can't count the amount of times I have watched this movie since then. Every time it just gives me a nice warm chuckle, yet presents a very good message for the wider movie go'er demographic. Featuring some of the biggest names in American comedy, including the legendary Dan Aykroyd as the main man of the movie, there was no doubting this would be comic gold. The story focuses around Beldar & Prymatt Conehead who are aliens from another world. Whilst on a scouting mission for planet conquest, they are inadvertently left behind. Whilst waiting to be rescued they decide to adapt to life on Earth and become illegal citizens of America. During that time they have a daughter, are constantly on the run from the INS and try to live a normal American sub-urban life.Going from the story you are forgiven for thinking that it just sounds like a stupid comedy movie, but the involvement of the great comedy minds are what make this movie work. The adaptation of the aliens into American suburbia is the obvious standout feature of the picture. Beldar (Aykroyd) and Prymatt (Curtin) present a relatively creepy persona of the Conehead aliens, yet what they actually do is present a very accurate idea of illegal immigrants trying to integrate into this suburban lifestyle. The film is very metaphorical in that respect, as the mixture of the Coneheads culture and ideas with that of Americans is in a sense "Alien" and represents that idea we have of immigrants moving to a strange land. Upon the birth of their daughter Connie (Burke) that American culture becomes even more Alien as their daughter is one of them, but not only that, she's a teenager.Throughout the film there are some genuinely classic moments that have me in tears every time, especially the time when Eldar becomes a cab driver and to hide his conehead he dons a turban. Brilliant in my opinion and I think I will have many people agree with me on that point.

Very happy😀😀👍👍

but great fun if you like Dan Ackroyd and are happy ...
Weirdly humanistic comedy about two aliens stranded on earth, who somehow manage to blend in to become well adjusted people, in spite of some considerable alien technology and of course, cone-shaped heads. Fairly two dimensional in some respects, but great fun if you like Dan Ackroyd and are happy with sci-fi comedies.

An immigrant's story with a twist
This time the aliens are REALLY aliens. A good comedy about the american society and the integration of foreigners. A narrative where nobody seems to notice that the Coneheads are from another planet. They ar strange? Who cares, they are from a foreign country.
