Material Girl
Definitely a great read that I didn't want to put down. Dylan was so blinded by materialistic things that she often found herself making many mistakes. She allowed one mans lies to cause her to lose the best thing she'd ever had. Billie and Tee-Tee were great friends to have because they often kept it real regardless of how harsh it seemed. Tee-Tee was beyond a trip and I truly loved his character. Billie was caught up in Cain but it was good knowing Knox was able to bring some joy back into her life. Now Candy was trifling for what she pulled on Dylan and needed to find her own way instead of all the get rich quick schemes. Angel was the epitome of a good man and instead of Dylan appreciating it, she allowed her insecurities to dictate her decisions. State worked my nerves to no end and Ashton got one up on him for sure. Dylan proved that things can change in the blink of an eye and none of the materialistic possessions owned will matter. I can't wait to start part 2.

this book was good except....
THE BAD:::::this book constantly took things from movies, songs,tv shows and celebrities today. when i first started reading the book and heard that State was a CEO of his own record label, was a co-owner of a professional b-ball team, owned a clothing line, had two restaurants, ohh and not to forget, he has "the hottest chick in the game wearing his chain"..it made me think of Jay -Z and Beyonce, but instead of her name being Beyonce it was Ashton. Also some of the things that kinda irked me was that Candy some what acted like Frankie, Keyshia Cole's mother and Billie just reminded me of Sheree from the housewives of Atlanta saying 'Who gon' check me boo?" And again, it seemed like Billie was just like Angela Bassett a.k.a.Bernadine somewhat from Waiting to Exhale. the husband leaving her for another woman..and while at court, he tells her she can have everything she that she wants, i was just waiting saying to myself.. " and this is gonna be the time when she meets Westley Snipes " lol. and the fact that Billie has 16 in long hair and cuts it allll off so that is short like Nia Long!? humm. and on to the music.smh...one line in the book in particular was "does he spank..does he bite..do he hit it just right..is the sex so good that it makes you wanna cry''..i was thinking to myself I know this song and i happen to love it but i couldn't think of the name for nothin..i know Trey Songz sings it but then i remembered its his song called ''if it's hood that you want". lolThe Good::::Tee-Tee was mad funny..i would love to have a friend like him, Candy was funny was well, especially with Billie's children. lol oh and not to forget about funny Uncle Clyde at the party lol..NOW THAT WAS MAD FUNNY..I COULD NOT STOP LAUGHING. Dylan's actions did make me say ''is she crazy or what!!!!'' The book did teach you a valuable lesson and the poor little State :(...NOT!!!! he deserved what he got!!! i cant wait to read part 2..cuz this one left me wanting more.i just hope that she is original with hers this time around!!!

Another Great Read by Keshia Ervin
"Material Girl" was another great read by Keshia Ervin. In this book we meet Dylan, a very materialistic self proclaimed diva. Dylan has two main addictions: spendng money and State. State is the brotha she desires more than anything else. Dylan goes through many ups and downs and has plenty of drama dealing with State, who is a successful businessman in the music business and a notorius playboy. Dylan wasnts State to commit, but State is keeping major secrets from Dylan in their on again off again rocky relationship. When these secrets are revealed, Dylan tries to move on with her BFF Billie's brother Angel, but that relationship is doomed, because Dylan can't seem to let State go no matter how bad he treats her!Billie is dealing with her own drama, and a failing relationship with a cheating husband. Dylan's flamingly fabulous cousin TeeTee provides some good laughs coupled with tellin' it like it is advice, and Dylans mother Candy is a hot mess! The book was really good, but it feels like I have read this story before. Other than that another good read from Miss Ervin!

Greatness
I loved this book from the very beginning. Dylan was spoiled rotten and thought that money could buy happiness. State kept coming into her life and was her drug of choice. I loved the bond that Billie and Tee Tee had with Dylan. It's hard to find that bond these days. Angel was the one for Dylan but she didn't see it until it was too late. I highly recommend this book.

Can't Wait for The Sequel
I just love Keisha's books!!! I've read all her books and she's definitely grown in her writing skills. I was reading a few reviews and I read where people were saying that they'd wished the ending would ended differently like Dylan ending up with Angel...But if you know Ms.Ervin, then you know she's setting it all up for a sequel....So for all of us who wanted Dylan to end up with Angel, I guess we'll have to wait for the sequel. I hope it doesn't take too long before it comes out....If you pay close attention you'll see that she crosses her characters from her earlier books...Tee Tee was in Gunz and Roses, just like Gun was in this book. I like her writing style she's awesome...

Dylan was way too materialistic but I like her. Her mama was cut throat and Dylan ...
OK, Dylan was way too materialistic but I like her. Her mama was cut throat and Dylan did learn her bad habits. She was stupid for keeping on fooling with State, and he was cut throat too! She met Angel and he did her right, she just couldn't leave State alone, now she has her belly full, but whose baby will it be?! Oh juicy!!!On to part 2 to find out.

I AM NOW A KEISHA ERVIN FAN....
This is the very first Keisha Ervin book that I have read, and I must say that I was more than pleased with it. I just began and finished this book yesterday and I have no complaints. This book is a good example of a how life in general can change a person, whether its for the best or for the worst. Dylan is a prime example of spoiled rotten and selfish. She puts her needs and wants in front of everyone else's and she will finally see that all the glitz and glamour was not fulfilling her. All the things that she wanted, turned out to be the things that she definitely did NOT NEED! This book screams, U MAKE YOUR BED AND YOU WILL HAVE TO LIE IN IT!

Great book, not predictable!
I really enjoyed this book and the ending was not predictable which I loved. The main character was hard to like at times but this is a credit to the author’s writing.
