Pleasantly surprised with this high-value framelock knife
I was pleasantly surprised when I received this high-quality folding knife. This was my first experience with Sanrenmu and I didn't know what to expect since I had heard mixed reviews. The stainless steel frame is beautiful and nicely contoured. There is no play in the blade at all. Nice jimping on the frame and blade and the hollow grind on the blade is perfect. Of course because this is not an assisted opener the flipper only opens the blade out partway, but a flick of the wrist while pressing the flipper allows the blade to open fully. The blade detent is very strong and this makes opening the blade with the thumbstuds extremely difficult, but this may improve with time and use. The blade is very sharp and cuts paper well. There are a few surface scratches on the handle but these are not visible unless the handle is closely inspected. I will definitely be buying from Sanrenmu again. One star was deducted because I couldn't use just one hand to open the knife using the thumbstuds. At less than $20, I would recommend this knife to anyone looking for a smallish folding knife.

NOT a lightweight!
This is a home run. Fit and finish are exceptional, and whatever the "ancient Chinese secret" forging process is, it works. This is not a lightweight carry, it's one you feel when you get the box in the mail. Durable and strong, tight and well made.Ordered while waiting for a 710 replacement, as I was so impressed with it as my first Sanrenmu purchase. Whatever the "ancient Chinese secret" forging process is, but man it is providing me with knives that are $50-$75 from name brands. And most of them are made in China already, so bigotry is costing you money. And the hard working, prideful Chinese have found a way to get more out of the steel than the entitled Americans have, BTW. Value, after all, includes cost vs. results. The brass anvil & spacer pins are a beautiful contrast to the stonewashed steel. It is my favorite of 3 Sanrenmus in my collection, and by no means the last!! Commonly, by every dope who critiques it, this model has been deemed a " Poor man's Sebenza". To put it straight, it is known to me and hopefully you as the "SMART man's Sebenza"!!!! If you really have $200 plus dollars, need A titanium pocket clip, and are a "Brand Queen" I'm sure those knives are in NO jeopardy of running out. If you want virtually the same knife and are, wait for it......SMART, take the gamble with $20 (?) on this knife. I defy you be unsaturated.I can not think of a knife I've been more impressed with. I added some nice filework on the beefy side plates to customize mine, sweet and fun. I'll never be without it!

A Quality Blade
I just got one. It's all stainless steel. No coating or gold colored spacers like some of the other models. Good looking knife. Good weight for it's size. Feels good in hand my pinky just fits on the handle and the flipper makes a good finger choil when deployed. Mine is way stiff though. No way I can use the thumb studs to deploy the blade and the flipper is not assisted. Hopefully it will loosen up with use. Overall a pretty good knife, especially for the money.
