Very easy to install. I had to use a longer screw on one door since the link was flat. Looks like it should work fine. I installed these after my garage was broke into. Way too easy without something like this.

Unlike several other reviews, I don't have an issue with the shield itself being plastic (although metal would be better). It is thick enough to maintain it's structure and I understand that it is strong enough to block a coat hanger. BUT, the plastic screws that attach the shield to the bracket are junk. I bought two shields for my garage doors and both are falling off after only 2 days. I tried reattaching them but the threading is so weak that they slide off way too easily. Perhaps a thief can't maneuver a coat hanger around the shield, but it wouldn't be too difficult to knock the shield off the j-arm with a coat hanger.

We like the product. Works for us to protect the garage. Easy to install.

For the door I attached it to, I found that the supplied thumbscrew used to clamp the bracket to the door’s arm laughably short. They could easily have spec’d a somewhat longer one to cover a better range of arm thicknesses. Having to find either another screw or some shims lowers the install score.

This was a great way to add another security provision to your home. I did have to modify the installation by using a few zip ties. Other than that it was good. The product is made out of plastic I would have like to seen it made out of fiberglass or metal.

This should stop a thief from wedging the top of the garage door and stick a coat hanger in to pull the release chord. This happened in our condo complex recently so I was glad I bought it. After receiving it, I thought it was expensive for a piece of plastic and some attaching hardware. I'd say that it would be easy to fabricate if you had the design but, oh well, I bought it. Let's hope it does the job and keeps my garage safe from a break-in.

Item was very easy to install. This is an item I hope never has to be used and am unsure if it will truly work. Hopeful item will deter potential burglars.

This item would not delay a burglar one second to bypass. It is a false sense of protection and I suggest no one purchase this item. I spent many years in law enforcement and know that this will not keep any burglar from opening your garage door without any delay. Bad product.
