I bought this for my 3-year-old grandson. He sat right down and knew what to do. The colors shine through so brightly that there is a "wow" effect for a 3-year-old. I included wider sponge brushes when I gifted this as it is more rewarding and more age-appropriate. He will be able to grow into this and use the smaller water pens as he experiments and plays with it more.

This is very nice and large enough for kiddos to share. It comes with stencils, and wide and fine tip water marker. Dries fairly quickly (within minutes). The colors are nice.

I bought one very similar for my daughter so I decided to buy this one as a gift as it was a little more economical. It does keep the children entertained for a long time and without leaving a mess. The mat has different colors so the kids can draw in different colors and that is nice for them. The pen and brush are a good size. However, the pen and brush did let more water come out so it was not as easy for the kids to draw/write as the lines would "bleed" and the water had to be refilled faster. This one only comes with one pen and one brush but it has plastic tracers in different colors which are nice for the kids. It doesn't have it's own bag to store, doesn't have stamps and the packaging wasn't anything special so it is good if it's for you but if it's a gift, consider having it delivered to your home and you gift wrap it.
