Chickens love it. Boosted egg production
This review is on behalf of the chickens: they love this mix and it immediately boosted their egg production..

Absolutely the best for my chickens and their eggs!
The absolute BEST poultry food. Not processed into pellets. Scratch and Peck products are unprocessed in a natural state - whole grains like birds are supposed to eat! Starter, layer, grower and scratch are all extremely fresh, superb quality whole grains, and non-pellitized. I haven’t found anything better for the health and happiness of my chickens and for the unbelievable taste and color of their eggs, inside and out.

The rooster likes this feed
We don't have any chickens but there is a rooster who lives next door and he spends most of each day over in our yard so I feed him. He seems to like this feed. I'll mix it with a couple of other varieties and add dried meal worms and he pecks away at it. He really appreciates it. In regard to the flavor of this feed; we were asked to rate the flavor for this review. I have not actually tasted it. If the rooster could speak, I hear him crowing at this very moment, he would probably say it tastes just fine.

Pricey but very good
I like that it's organic and contains no corn or soy. I don't like the price. But my chickens are still laying in January, so I guess it's worth it!

The only "real" feed
By "real" I mean "unenriched". When are chickens ever going to get their own grain mill and start adding inorganic niacin, thyamine, etc. to their food? The only absorb-able nutrients are in whole, unadulterated grains. Thank you!

My free range birds love it!
I have completely free range birds and as a first time chicken owner I tried a few different organic layer feeds that had these same seeds in them. The chickens would eat the seeds and leave the gravel and pellets aside. A lot was going to waste, so I decided to try this. They eat absolutely all of it. I supplement with oyster shells and they are happy and laying beautifully!

NOT FEED!! THE SELLERS LISTING CONTAINS INACURATE INFORMATION!! DON'T MAKE YOUR CHICKENS ILL!!
This listing was originally for 18% protein layer feed and that is what the reviews are for. The seller recently made a change to the listing and is selling 9% protein scratch treat (NOT feed), BUT did not update all parts of the listing and the reviews for the previous product make it appear that this is layer feed, but it is not. If you look down in the middle of the listing where there is a manufacturer description of the product it says:"What is a Scratch n' Corn Hen Treat?Scratch and Peck Soy Free Scratch n' Corn is made using Certified Organic whole grains. We use a blend of Pacific Northwest grown Organic Corn, Organic Wheat and Organic Barley. Feed as a treat from your hand or scatter on the ground! Scratch n’ Corn is an excellent treat choice for cold weather. The added corn is an easily digestible carbohydrate that helps your birds generate energy.Scratch is an indulgent treat for your birds — don’t let it spoil their dinner! Limit scratch to 10% or less of the full diet."Notice that it lists only 3 ingredients and recommends that this stuff should be 10% or less of your flock's diet. Meanwhile, the seller's description (which is from the previously sold product on this listing) says:"Nutritious and Energy Dense - A special blend of cracked organic grains, organic flax meal, and select vitamins similar to Naturally Free Organic Starter and Grower, but our 9% + Corn contains an optimum level of corn and protein for birds 20+ weeks and which helps them recover during molting seasons."This is a description of the 18% protein layer feed that was previously being sold (except that 18% was changed to 9%), it is NOT an accurate description of the current product. IF YOU GIVE THIS TO YOUR CHICKENS AS THEIR PRIMARY FEED THEY WILL GET SICK!! I bought from this listing before the title was changed from 18% feed to 9% scratch and didn't realize that the listing was inaccurate. This is what the listing title was when I purchased: "Scratch and Peck Feeds Cluckin' Good Organic 18% Protein Scratch 'n Corn for Chicken and Duck Flocks - Organic and Non-GMO Project Verified - 50-lbs" I had my laying hens on this for less than two weeks but their laying production slowed and they were so frantically hungry/malnourished they started pulling feathers from each other and eating anything they could forage to try to get the nutrients they weren't getting from their feed. The seller made good on giving me a refund and has *partially* corrected the information listing, but not enough for people to not realize that this is NOT FEED. Please do not give this to your chickens as a primary food source, you will make them very sick.If the listing is corrected so that it no longer contains inaccurate (fraudulent) information, I will change or amend my review. It's good quality scratch, it's just terrible quality FOOD.

Expensive
Chickens like it but in my opinion the feed is too expensive. Went back to my old brand.
