Bought for my boyfriend. He loves the quality, fit and lightweight but durable material, as well as the pockets, and length of the shorts. He is very happy with this brand all the way around.The stitching is nice, but the only thing he's not crazy about is the velcro closures in the back pockets, but he's okay with that enough to want more of these shorts in different colors. I've ordered two colors for him so far. I wish there were a lot more color options!He wears a size 36, and is 5'8" tall; these shorts come down just above his knees, so they are a perfect length to him and look great! They are versatile and look good dressed up or dressed casual.Great value for the price, fast shipping too!

I compared this item to several pairs of cargo shorts purchased from a clothing "seconds" reseller. Often high quality expensive items ended up here simply because the size label was incorrect, or stitching was slightly off. Yet those were well made and lasted nearly a decade. The Wrangler brand used to represent a quality pair of jeans, years ago.Pros: Main advantage: The fit is as advertised and comfortable in the crotch region and waistline. The fabric is thin, this may be what you want if you prefer a lighter fabric. There are 5 smaller cargo pockets instead of 2 large ones. It uses Velcro pocket closures. A side point regarding fit is that the crotch and groin region is snug in the Amazon Basics cargo shorts. It's "fine" if you never sit down. In addition, the fabric is thin and is likely not durable, another one of the "cheap disposable clothing". I can live with the Velcro but like buttons. I preferred the old shorts but they had expired from years of use and abuse.

These appear to be decent shorts, but the side pockets are just about useless, for me at least. Instead of one big side cargo pocket they decided it was better to break that up into 3 small side pockets that are really too small for much of anything. If you carry a cell phone in your side pocket like I do, then I would not recommend these shorts. You can stuff a cell phone in the bottom of the 3 pockets if you turn it sideways and you don't have a very large cell phone case on it, but it is uncomfortable once you get it in there. If you carry a small set of keys, some change or something else small then these should work fine.
