Works well
I read a lot of reviews before settling on this scale. I definitely wanted an analog scale because my previous digital one kept going through batteries and never worked properly. Some of the reviews on this one had me worried it might not be accurate or consistent.Right out of the box I zeroed the scale, set it on a hardwood floor where it's going to live, then hopped on and off several times. My husband also tried it several times. It came back to zero consistently and read our same weights each time. That's a thumbs-up for me. I expect to have this scale a good long while.

Works just fine
Not sure what all the negative reviews are about, perhaps there are quality control issues with this scale? But the one I receieved is great. When I first got it I had to zero the scale using the small knob underneath the front edge, and I periodically have to do that still. I decided to test it by placing a 2L jug of water on the scale (about 5 lbs), my own weight, and my weight while holding the jug. It was accurate as far as I could tell. The dial has 1 lb graduations. It does take a bit of skill to use to get repeatable readings, you'll need to shift your weight a bit while standing on it until the needle reaches a steady value on the dial since it has a tendency to stick. But I am getting consistent readings to within 1 pound, which is great for a cheap little scale like this.I am liking the fact that there are no batteries to change with this mechanical scale. Also the fact that some cheaper digital scales will try to cheat you by displaying the last measured weight if you step on soon afterwards, to give the impression that the scale is repeatable. There are no electronics in this one, what you see is what you get (assuming it is measuring your weight accurately of course)A complaint however: the scale is tiny, 10"x10". I would have preferred something with a slightly bigger surfaceOther than that this is a decent little scale. I can't see why anyone would need to buy a scale, digital or not, that measures your weight to a precision of less than 1 pound. If you need that kind of precision and accuracy, there is no substitute for the kind of scale you see at your doctor's office. Also keep in mind that the average person's weight will vary by 3-5 lb a day so unless you are stepping on the scale with an empty bladder and at the same time each day, expect to see some variation.

Not great
MY FIRST IMPRESSION:I've got size 15 feet, and yes, they hang over the edge, but it doesn't matter. It's not like I feel like I'm gonna fall off, or like I'm not getting an accurate reading. The scale works fine. The price is right, and yes, you have to zero it just about every time you weigh yourself, but it's not hard to do. You just turn the dial and you're done. I got this after paying $35 for a fancy electronic "Healthometer" scale at Wal Mart that stopped working after about 3 months (no, it wasn't the battery). This one won't have that problem. It gives a perfectly accurate reading (I just weighed myself at the gym earlier today on their pro-model scale, and I got the same reading on this scale). I like it. I've only had it for about twenty minutes, so I'll write more later if it ends up annoying me. It is nice and small, also - another nice feature. I've got a smallish bathroom - no sense taking up a lot of floor space on a scale.AFTER A FEW DAYS:At first it seemed to give fairly consistent results as long as I zeroed it out first, but now, even if I do zero it out, the readings seem to fluctuate a lot. If I weigh myself 3 or 4 times, usually most of the readings will be fairly accurate, but about every 4th reading it tells me I'm 10 pounds lighter or heavier than the other readings. I'm not psyched on it. Healthometer did tell me to send in my other, electronic scale for a replacement, but the shipping cost me $16. Boo.

Sunbeam Should be Ashamed of This Scale
When this scale arrived I carefully followed the very simple instructions as printed on the back of the box to zero out the scale. Placing the scale on a concrete surface, the first problem encountered was the dial would not stay at zero when the adjustment dial was released. Second problem was any slight movement, even a small nudge, of the scale made the dial jump to anywhere between 10 and 30 pounds indicated, which required another cumbersome reset to zero. Third problem was once zeroed and left stationary, the scale did not accurately weigh three different people. It was off by a factor of over 100 pounds for each person! And once again between someone standing on the scale, it would not return to zero and had to be readjusted. And again, the scale did not want to stay exactly on the zero. We tried several different times in several different ways to get the scale to work properly, and it never would accurately display weight or return to zero after each and every use. The scale is one of the worst purchases I've ever made, but due to the cheap price it's not even worth sending back. Sunbeam should be ashamed to put their name on such a junk piece of equipment. Best advice I can give is leave it on Amazon and look for something better if you're looking for dial type scale.

Accurate
I tested it out by comparing to several other scales, and I find it to be very accurate. It is not a digital, and therefore it’s not subject to the things that Negatively affect a digital scale. On the negative side it is a little small and I am really not a big person and I wish the read out screen was a little larger so you could read the scale better but it’s only $20 and worth it

Thanks
Great scale! I use it in my garage. Finally a spring operated scale that I don't have to step on and wait a minute for electronics to calibrate. Electronic scales I tried are worthless for weighing just a few pounds or anytime I can't step on it first before I load it.

Very Accurate Scale
I checked this scale against my digital scale which I had set from my Dr's office scale and it was bang on the money.I was surprised how accurate it was for a spring scale at this price point.

Funciona bien, me gustó
Está bien la báscula, aunque no me había fijado que viene en libras, pero nada que una calculadora no pueda solucionar.

Really happy with this one
I was looking for a simple, mechanical scale. Really happy with this one. I can’t speak to durability yet as I’ve only had it a few months, but it works well and seems to be made well.
