Bittersweet ending to the series
Well I finally made time to finish up this series and I must say that ending is very bittersweet. The original Iron Fey books are some of my all-time favorites and while this continuation/spin off was enjoyable it never quite had the same spark for me that the original four had. It’s still weird for me reading about Ethan as an adult, but I've really come to love him over these last three books. He has grown quite a bit and I really love who he became. But the one who stole the show for me was Kenzie. I love that Kenzie is so strong in her own way. She isn’t strong in the “I can kick your butt” sense, but Ethan would not have survived without Kenzie. She is ridiculously smart and gets them out of most jams. And then there is Kierran. That dumb boy broke my damn heart. He is so good at his core AND HE DID ALL THE DUMB THINGS. I wanted to strangle him and then smack him upside the head and then hug him.Of course it was fun catching up with my favorites again and its cool seeing Meghan in all her queenly glory. Seeing Ash was wonderful cause I adore him and love him. And I loved seeing Puck because he cracks me up and he stole the scene whenever he showed up. Of course Julie Kagawa always delivers a great plot with tons of action and romance. As much fun as I’ve had going back to this world, there is a small part of me that wishes we never went back to this world. The thing with continuing a series is that is takes away the happy ending from your favorites. Even though Meghan and Ash aren’t the central characters this time around, the nonsense Kierran pulls puts them through hell. I dunno. I just liked imagining Ash and Meghan all happy in my head. I still enjoyed these books, but I wanted my Meghan and Ash left alone. All in all, The Iron Warrior was a good, albeit, bittersweet conclusion. It’s a fun read and I enjoyed visiting the Never Never again.

Great ending to a brilliant series!
It's no secret now that I absolutely LOVE Julie Kagawa and will read anything that this woman writes. Add that to the fact that I have been waiting for what feels like forever for this book and I think it's safe to say that I was super excited to finally have it in my hands. The Iron Fey: Call of the Forgotten series focuses on the relationship between Ethan Chase and his nephew, Prince Keirran and centers around a prophecy that was revealed at the end of the Iron Fey series. Here we find Ethan frantically navigating the in Between on a quest to get Keirran back his soul and stop the impending war between the Courts of Nevernever and the Forgotten Queen.Blinded by what he thinks is right, Keirran is leading the Forgotten Army straight into battle against the courts, including his mother. He's brash, but driven. He has all of the elements of a leader but it's his direction that's a little skewed. Ethan knows his nephew and he refuses to believe that this is what has become of Keirran. It isn't until Keirran attempts to kill Ethan again that Ethan finally realizes that Keirran must be stopped. Unwilling to kill his own nephew, Ethan sets out on a quest to find the only thing that can return Keirran to his former self - an amulet containing the essence of his soul.I've loved Keirran since the first time he appeared in print. So I was right there along side Ethan the entire way as he fought to restore Keirrans soul. This doesn't mean that I didn't want to drop kick his fairy ass all the way through Nevernever. I could not believe how he was acting and it made it hard to love him. But I do love my damaged boys. What I love about reading work from Kagawa is how alive her writing is. I'm normally not a huge fan of books relating to the fey but this has hands down become one of my favorite series. And that's all due in part to this world and these characters that just demand attention. These magical places feel so real that I want to travel there myself. I want to see through the glamour of the fey and feel the sun in the Summer court and the snow in the Winter court. I want my own Razor sitting on my shoulder. Truthfully, I just want more of this world and am sad that it came to a close. However, if Kagawa ever decides that she wants to reopen this world, I will be there in a heartbeat!

What a Journey
Solid five stars for the whole series. I did not do a review for the first six books yet as I was too busy reading (can you believe that lol). This has been such an amazing journey for me. When I picked up book one I didn't realize I would lose sleep, have more than enough moments of bipolar emotions and fall in love with all the characters. Ms. Kagawa had created such an amazing world. Her characters are so full of life and emotions that you feel every emotion they felt, lived every heartache and adventure they went thru. I disagree with some of the ways of the fae but it is what it is. I am so so sad to see the end of this series. I know a good things must come to an end (eventually). When I'm done being emotionally drained from the series, I may go back and do individual reviews for each book. As it is, I just don't have the heart to separate the series. This is one of those series that you would be more than happy to pay for as one full very long book. Yes it is that good.As sad as I am see it end and let me say not the way I would have liked, I feel somewhat relieved that my emotional turmoil can take a short vacation.I loved the series, it has everything good you would expect in a storyline and you can't help but feel for and love the characters. This series show you that life is all about choices and every choice you make has consequences, good or bad, but it doesn't mean that you cannot make amends for your choices. You just have to live with the outcomes.Once again, an amazing world, heart touching characters and a storyline spanning over years and years covering family values, life lessons, and love beyond time.

A Fantastic Conclusion!
This is the third book in The Forgotten Trilogy but the seventh book in the Iron Fey series. I loved it!Ethan Chase is a fantastic character. I really liked him when I first met him as a frightened four year old when he was kidnapped by The Iron King and taken into Faery in the first book of the series. Now he's seventeen and he's grown up into a wonderful young man. Brought back to life after dying at the hands of his nephew, Ethan finds himself on another dangerous mission. This time, there may be no turning back. But can he stop his nephew from bringing down the veil between the worlds forever?I have become addicted to this series. I started reading this book as soon as I had finished reading The Iron Traitor and didn't put it down until I had finished it.The story continues from the shocking end of The Iron Traitor. I enjoyed meeting all of the previous characters again: Grimalkin, Puck, Meghan, Ash, Leanansidhe, Razor and Kenzie amongst others, as well as the Thin Man, who has a larger role in this tale and is not as bad/creepy as I'd originally thought. This story is again full of action, adventure, danger and romance. There are a few twists that I didn't see coming and a couple of shocks too. I love the witty dialogue between the characters and the vivid storytelling brought this book to life. I could picture the scenes in my minds eye with ease. In fact, I didn't feel like I was reading at all but watching a movie. As the story unfolded I found myself on a roller coaster ride of emotion and had tears streaming down my face on more than one occasion, as well as sitting on the edge of my seat at others. Ethan' s character has grown a lot. He has become more tolerant of the Fey and less fearful of them. However, Keirran has also grown somewhat in the course of the tale. He has made some huge mistakes, but I still feel that he has a lot to learn. Hopefully his family will help him as he deals with his new responsibilities as The Forgotten King. It's rare these days to come across a series that grips a reader as much as this one gripped me (or so I have found). I shall miss these characters as they have become my friends. I reached the end of the book with bittersweet feelings; sad that the story (and series) was over, but happy that it ended on an upbeat note. I intend to visit this world as often as I can.Julie Kagawa has written a fantastic Young Adult series. I love her writing style, which is fast paced and exciting. The flow was also wonderful, as each scene moved effortlessly into the next. She has found a firm fan in me and I will definitely be reading more of her books in the future.Although there is one scene of a sensual nature, it is not explicit. There are, however, scenes that are violent or a little gory. Therefore, I do not recommend this to readers under 15. Nevertheless, I highly recommend this book if you love YA fantasy or paranormal romances. - Lynn Worton

Loved!!
I absolutely adored this whole series and it was one of my very first dips into the supernatural and one of the many world's of fey.The story continues on without any pause and you jump right back in. I missed being in the Nevernever and with the many amazing characters that Julie has created. This book focuses again on Ethan Chase and his intertwined story with his nephew Kierran. I could go into detail and gush about everything but I really don't want to spoil it for everyone who hasn't yet read The Iron Warrior. The story is captivating, action packed and full of highs and lows for each character involved. Old familiar faces that we have come to love and hate throughout the series are threaded throughout this story and you will love each of them popping in. I can't go any further without mentioning Razor! I bloody love that little gremlin and want one for my own!The continuation and conclusion of this story is epic! It would have been hard not to love all that was going on, even the darkest parts of the story. It was a very enjoyable read and I may even go back and read them all again!

An apt ending
I have read all of the Iron Fey series and while I have more of a soft spot for Meghan, Ash and Puck, I've really enjoyed this latter trilogy as well. I've seen reviews where people are flinging toys out of prams or weeping or yodelling with joy over this series. It has never held the same amount of emotional investment for me. So I can say quite objectively that I think this is a satisfying and apt conclusion to the series. While I do get annoyed with the 'you're-dead-but-wait-no-you're-not-really' card being played more than once, these books are pure indulgent entertainment and I think Kagawa has done a great job. They definitely make it on to the reread list.

Quality issues but not the fault of seller
Enjoy the series but this book is questionable in its style. Deckled edges do not in my opinion add aesthetic quality to a book. The paper feels cheap and nasty. All other books in the series were lovely perfection then this came along. Can say it arrived very quickly and well packaged though.
