I want to. Protect my sifter from the weather with a tarp.  Anybody have any suggestions?

Hi Flo,
This is Brian from Tarp Tie Down Co.
Ironically, as our name suggests we also specialize in securing tarps with tie downs.
I would recommend getting a good 10mil tarp (Often the package will say 10mil, heavy duty or both. These are often gray, white, or brown tarps (not blue). Most hardware stores carry tarps. If your Roll & Tilt will be stored on the ground first elevate it high enough so water won't puddle around it and throw your tarp over it and weight the tarp down around the edges. You might first place something like an empty box or empty milk jug on the screen so you form a peak when you throw your tarp over. This for good drainage. That should do it. There are many pictures with the listing so they may give you some other insights. Furthermore, your Roll &Tilt is made from redwood and galvanized pipe so it's already weather tolerant and with a good tarp you'll be in great shape for a long lasting Roll & Tilt.

Is it sturdy enough to sift garden rock?

Hi Stuart,
Sorry about the late response. The typical Amazon channel I get inquiries like yours from didn't seem to notify me.

But yes! The Roll & Tilt is more than sturdy enough for landscape/garden rock. As a matter of fact, I sifted the dirt out of about 2 ton of crushed aggregate landscape rock where the rocks measure from 1" up to 3" in a given dimension. This is the rock with all the jagged edges of course. It did this last fall.

Additionally, landscape/garden rock is very heavy, and the Roll & Tilt will make the job much less laborious than it would otherwise be since the shake tray is on a guided and wheeled path, not to mention the tilt action to empty the tray.
