Reasons I love this book....
I received my per-ordered copy of this book and was very surprised that it was so incredibly thick. I own two of Kelly's cookbooks, one of her original spunky coconut cookbooks and the dairy free ice cream cookbook. I have seen such an evolution in her cookbooks and recipes and I love her blog and free recipes she shares on her newsletter, etc. When I heard about this book I had to pre-order, especially after her coconut bread recipe, doughnut recipe and pumpkin rolls allowed me to enjoy things that tasted like foods I used to love. I am not exactly paleo, but I have been working on doctors on medical issues that are rooted in diet. I tend to vary between paleo and keto diets or somewhere in between where I am avoiding all grains and sugars because carbs spike some of my adrenal issues to trigger other things.Best things about this book:1. Kelly sharing her story. I find it easy to relate to and less preachy when people share "their story" including their trials and errors, struggles, etc rather than an author feeding me a slew of what I should eat and shouldn't just because they have opinions on things. Many fad diets are like that, but this book starts off explaining how it was a lifestyle shift, which drastic diet changes do tend to be and going paleo is absolutely a lifestyle shift. I love how this book introduces in this way. It was a short intro worth reading to me because it set the tone for the rest of the book.2. I love that she simply just explains things in steps. Step 1 - here's the picture of what you keep and what you eliminate. Why they must be eliminated, and the best alternates and substitutes to staples. Step 2 - the staples and how to organize them. Step 3 - kitchen tools.. Step 4 - Strategy and meal planning ideas. As an auditor and process improvement specialist in the corporate world, this speaks my language of logic and efficiency. Thank you Kelly for speaking my language with food.3. The Photography is amazing. Seriously amazing and it really takes all the content of the recipes and lifestyle shift to the next level. Not only do nearly all the recipes have pictures of what they look like (which is key for someone like me who is visual and questions if what I made looks like what the author intended to have it look like) but the pictures of storage spaces, the kitchen tools, ideas of organizing, and what types of jars to use really make the book stand out for me. Its just as great as going to Pinterest.4. The organization chapter. Especially the part when you say there is no perfection in organization. I seriously needed someone to acknowledge that. The pictures in this section are real and I feel inspired to replicate them.5. Kitchen quick tips. Love these, wish there were more of them!6. Meal planning chapter. I still need to wrap my head around this one and really see if I can do this and engage my family. I don't yet have kids, but I have a large husband child that probably needs to be tested to prove he needs this diet before he will help me with the meal and planning prep. I understand the concept, but I think the lifestyle shift around meal planning is going to be something I will find challenging. I know its the way to do it. I need to give it a whirl and really get down and dirty with the two chapters that focus on this. I also have to explore her website templates that she talks about in this section to see how they will aid me. I need help with meal planning because I know it helps it stick. I am a little confused about why there are only two weeks per season in the plan. the grocery lists are great. They must be examples or replicated during the month. I understood the general concepts of stretching when you do have time to make meals, I do that now, but I guess I need to dive into this deeper to grab onto the strategy here since I perhaps skimmed this session to get to the delicious part of this book....7. Hands down - the recipies are amazing. There is a range of complexity in them and having made some of them from her blog, I know they must be amazing. Simplifying the baking mixes is genius and pre-making those helps a lot with the way she has this set up. My personal favorites: pumpkin rolls, creamer, best-ever pancakes (they really are), and sandwich bread. If you are paleo, this brings back food that fits in with your diet and is some of the tastiest meals I have had. I can't wait to try some of the soups and dinner dishes. They look so tasty!Very pleased with this purchase.

Best Everyday Paleo Cookbook (Seriously)
I really appreciate this book. I own all 3 of the author's books, and this one is just as good as the others, if not better because it's useful every day of the week. There are lots of easy Paleo recipes, which are truly easy, unlike many other Paleo recipes/cookbooks that only advertise they're quick. Typically very short ingredient lists. Some of my favorite recipes are coconut porridge (closest to oatmeal you'll ever get as grain-free! Believe me, I've tried a ton. I keep the mix in the fridge all the time for a really quick breakfast.), spinach artichoke dip, sunbutter & chocolate fudge (to think I used to not like fudge much! And it's such a healthy dessert!), cheeseburger soup, crackers, slow cooker BBQ chicken, and that's just off the top of my head.Includes a fair amount of egg-free recipes, and the egg-free baked goods are really good, contradictory to what I had once come to know for EF grain-free baked goods. A few nightshade-free recipes, but probably not worth the buy for that.In response to the complaint that this uses too much starch: The main dishes don't use starch, and if one is only cooking to heal one's gut, I can't imagine there are any baked goods or treats that will achieve that goal. For those of us who can/do enjoy an occasional treat, it's very helpful to sometimes have an actually GOOD Paleo-friendly treat to sustain myself on this diet/lifestyle. I don't think the recipes including starch/sugar are intended to be every day foods for most of us.Highly recommend this cookbook; I own tons of Paleo cookbooks, including those that advertise being easy or fast, and this is one of the few I use on a regular basis. Not only are the recipes easy enough on a busy day or for those who struggle with low energy, but they're delicious, satiating and satisfying as well.

Wanted to like it but....
I wanted to love this cookbook. I follow Kelly on instagram and I'm always checking out her blog. What I consider a big con, not just of this cookbook, but Paleo in general is moving towards using high amounts of arrowroot and tapioca starch in most recipes. I understand that it boosts texture and makes it so good and so like "real" bread products, but if someone has a health condition where they can't have starches, in the past Paleo has been a big help, now, not so much anymore. I realize for most people it's okay if they have starch, but I can't help but wonder what that high amount of pure starch is doing to the body. It doesn't seem much healthier than pure sugar, worse maybe because it seems like healthier foods and so we maybe eat more than we would if it was a sugary dessert? A huge portion of this cookbook is devoted to her 3 mixes which are all about 50% arrowroot (pure starchy carbohydrate) and then a big portion of the recipes (I was going to count it up but haven't had the time) are made using these mixes. Because of this there are many, many recipes that I won't ever use unless I'm able to heal my gut and can have starch again. But even then I can't help wonder, I don't know that we were meant to consume large quantities of arrowroot on a regular basis. Why not just eat regular wheat? At least the body will digest that slower (I realize someone with celiac can't do that, but that's like 3% of the population). I did make the cheeseburger soup and I really wanted to like it. I made a double batch for the kids and I. We all ate it but I realized we wouldn't go back for more so I salvaged the ground beef out of it and rinsed the rest away. It was essentially a thick tomato cream soup with burger in it. Not bad, but just not that great. I actually think it would be better to forgo the burger in it and just make some tomato soup out of it. Other than that haven't been able to try anything else because arrowroot is called for in so many of the recipes.

Buy it, you won't be sorry!
This is a fabulous cookbook. Firstly, Kelly uses three different flour blends depending on the type of baked goods you are making. I keep all three ready mixed so it makes it a lot easier. If you are used to gluten free and or paleo baking then you know how long it takes when you want to make something in a hurry. Kelly takes away the frustration! Her bagels are delicious and really easy to make. No they don't taste like real bagels but I am very fussy and I think they are really amazing and don't upset my stomach. Most paleo and gluten free breads I really don't like or they're too complicated. Also, the salted pecan pie was so amazing and tasted as good as it looked and no one could belivee it was paleo! I haven't made that many things from the book yet but everything I have made has been wonderful. The recipes are easy to follow and are all very healthy.

Another excellent book by Kelly
Another excellent book by Kelly. Lots of both sweet and savoury dishes....the sort of food you REALLY want to eat. I love it as much as her dairy-free ice cream book. Highly recommend.

Another lovely Paleo recipe book!
This is a lovely recipe book, I love the pictures and the layout. The intro. gets you acquainted with the author and her story which I found very interesting. She goes on to share what paleo ingredients and kitchen tools you will need, gives you how to's and tips which I sorely needed. I have tried some of the recipes and everyone was loaded with flavor and goodness, my favorites; burrito bowl and one-pot pizza pasta(the pasta is spiraled butternut squash). It was so good and my family loved it!It's too hard to cook one way for one family member who is gluten/lactose intolerant and to cook another way for all the rest. My family loves the paleo recipes and they dont' feel like they are missing out.A note for those that are deemed lactose intolerant, there is cow's milk produced that has A2 Protein, which is different than the milk we are used to. Our daughter can consume this milk no problem. Interestingly, some dairy farmers are switching over to cows that produce the A2 protein seeing that there is a niche market with the lactose intolerant folks. Very cool!
