SAFAVIEH Heritage Collection Accent Rug - 2' x 3', Blue & Brown, Handmade Traditional Oriental Wool, Ideal for High Traffic Areas in Entryway, Living Room, Bedroom (HG812B)

We have been looking for a reasonably priced large traditional area rug for our dining room and finally pulled the trigger on this one. My wife and I are both happy we did. It did arrive a bit late but that wasn't a big deal to us. The packaging was pretty decent. The size is as stated, the colors are beautiful and the carpet has a very good feel under foot. I am impressed. It has the look and feel of much more expensive rugs. I know because I checked them out at Mansour's Rug Gallery in Roseville CA. That place is awesome but you better have a solid bank account and a sound heart before you start looking at the price tags.When you read the other reviews for these rugs you will see many that have problems with massive shedding and a need to vacuum constantly leading to a loss of sheen or comfort or whatever. My wife vacuumed this one with her Dysan vacuum and picked up some fuzz but nothing out of the ordinary. We have two wool carpets from Costco that were worse. My wife does not expect this to be an issue. If it develops into one I will be back. The other main issue seemed to be about color being off or very drab color. This is decidedly not so with the carpet we received. It is beautiful. My only concern is that there is one area where the carpet was rolled and folded unevenly leading to a crease that is noticeable right now but could very well flatten out over time. If it does I will return and give this carpet 5 stars. If it doesn't I am not sure what I will do but either way I will update the review in a few weeks.We are very satisfied and will be looking for another even larger rug from Safavieh for our family room.

I would give this rug 5 stars except for the excessive shedding. I ordered the 9x12 brown and blue rug. It arrived promptly. Colors are beautiful. Blue is slightly more teal than in the picture, but I liked it. However, I've had it for 2 months now and every time I vacuum it totally fills up the cannister each time with tiny 1/2" long or so wool fibers. I'm not talking about a vacuum with a tiny canister. In the beginning it filled the canister twice in one vacuuming. Now, after 16+ cleanings, it still fills up the vacuum each time. The rug doesn't feel as plush under your feet after a couple months of this. These tiny fibers don't stay on the rug, either. They can create a visible layer on the wood floor after a couple days, depending on how many people walk through the living room. Not sure where all these little fibers are coming from, since the rug is supposed to be hand-tied? Maybe it's hand-tied and machine cut? Perhaps I received a bad rug and they don't all shed, but I'm worried that if I return this one I'll start over with a new one that sheds just as much if not more. I'm concerned that I'll end up with a rug with thin or bare spots. Love the rug, don't want to return it, but can only recommend it if you don't mind vacuuming every other day. If it stops shedding I'll update this review.

Just got this today but as of today we LOVE it!!!The colors are more of a sea foam & brown but that's what I was expecting after reading other reviews. It's very thick and super soft and plush. I haven't noticed any oder from the rug. It was packaged nicely and wrapped/rolled in two layers of thick plastic.As far as shedding, I'll update on that after a while but in my experience in owning 100% Wool rugs they will shed for a while at first. Nothing a vacuum won't take care of. ' After while it will stop shedding if you properly care for it and you'll be left with a beautiful rug.I may buy another for our downstairs living space. :)Happy shopping!!!

We were looking to cover the large area of our living room, this 12X18 rug turned out to be exactly what we were looking for. In this size category, there weren’t many options. We have been using Safavieh rugs for a long time and have a couple of them in our family room including a runner 2x8 and a 7x9. They are going well and there hasn’t been much shedding in last 2 years.This blue/brown rug is beautiful, we have teal color sofa set in our living room, we were hoping this teal color will match with sofa color, we were please to realize, not only the color is matching with our sofa set but the brown color on the border adds beauty to this luxury Rug, the way we have put this on the floor, on one side it is showing up from where sofa starts and on the other side of the room we have put our lavender color sofas on it- don’t think it will slip. We have not put any rug pad underneath as its plush, high pile and comfortable to walk and sit!It has added a luxury look to our living room (we earlier had a white shag rug (9x10) and a square (8x8) hand knotted rug which we have moved to our basement!!My kids helped me to set this up, UPS left it outside our garage and my son brought this in (it’s heavy), we had to move around our furniture to put this rug!I vacuumed it immediately after putting it and found no excessive shedding- I have had wool rug and hence knew that it will shed a bit, this rug fully met our expectations- my kids and wife are appreciating the fact that we decided to go with the Safavieh rug, the thank you note from Safavieh in picture, clearly states about wrinkles (there are some), I am not worried about it, I know it will go away in no time! There is no smell or bad smell as reading from some other reviews- Simply awesome! I will further update the review id anything changes.I am glad we made this decision! I was apprehensive initially but once ordered kept reading reviews as I wasn’t sure!If you are looking to add the luxury look, protect wood flooring and be comfortable while walking or sitting on the rug- Trust me- you won’t be disappointed, this is the rug foe you! One of my kids started rolling on the rug, upon checking I couldn’t find any excessive wool on his clothes :-)Colors in different light/shades may look dark or lighter, so please be prepared to move around your floor lamps- Overall a must buy, highly recommended!
