Great story on Lucky Luke and his companions.
This comic book describes the illustrates one of the latest adventures of Lucky Luke. This one takes our cowboy hero into Canada, mostly due to his faithful and clever horse, Jolly Jumper missing a mare he has fallen for. Lucky Luke undercovers criminal activity in the area and is determined to bring the people responsible to justice. He also brings along his silly dog Rin-Tin-Can, (Parody of Rin-Tin-Tin) who runs into loads of trouble and mischeif that you will see when reading this comic book. This particular book like most or if not Lucky Luke comics contain much slapstick humour that may make you laugh when reading it. The illustrations are very colourful and the english writing which is translated from it's originally french story is good and very understanding. This is one of the best comic book I have ever read and I would recommend getting this one, even if you aren't a huge fan of Lucky Luke. The artist who created this whole story have much talent and skill, which is clearly shown when reading this book.

Overly dense but amusing
Lucky Luke in Quebec! His second foray to Canada (but the first, in The Daltons in the Blizzard, is not really referenced much here). This was clearly a really tough translation job! Nice to see that the translator has included a little glossary of many of the Québecois cameos and in-jokes at the start of the book, as well as a lot of footnotes through the later pages! Actually, this early post-Morris Lucky Luke volume is a little overloaded with such jokey cultural references (Céline Dion, Robert Charlebois, and on and on), cluttering up an already over-complicated and somewhat turgid story. This was the first Lucky Luke story to appear after the death of Morris, and clearly the new team of Achdé and Gerra were working overtime to show that they were up to the task of following in the footsteps of Morris (and Goscinny) ... but a lighter touch and a cleaner plot would have worked better, I think. Still, the art is great, and the overall concept -- including Jolly Jumper in love -- is a lot of fun.
