well my idea of DIY does NOT include a vacuum pump and meters and hoses and manifolds. BUT after a bit of thrashing and flailing.. it seems to work. it is noisier than i had hoped. i visit other houses and theirs have a whisper quiet setting which this one does not. so i don't know. it is ok.

I installed the system in one day; I did have to hire a tech to release the gas because i did not have the equipment. The manual is not very helpful at all; it's very vague and hard to follow. I called the company, they did not have a help line, because the mother board was defective and they were very helpful and sent me a replacement immediately. My garage is approximately 800 square feet and I really have not been able to test out the system to see if it will cover such a large space. When I turn the AC unit on it does get cold immediately, however, the fan is not as powerful as I had expected. I really cannot comment on how energy efficient the unit is, though I did insulate my garage and my garage door. Hopefully that will keep the garage cool!

cool product
This a/c unit was installed in an unattached two-car garage in Florida. Great product and we are totally satisfied. The product was well represented in the advertisement.
