I love the Lumineers, their last album, Cleopatra, was a masterpiece, uplifting, full of great songs that you wanted to sing along with and not a wasted second on the whole album.Unfortunately this new album is the opposite, with the exception of Gloria and possibly Democracy all of the other tracks are drab, depressing and forgettable. They seem to have written a musical to define a story, set out a script and then tried to make some music work around it. The result is laboured, lacks melody and they themselves seem to be struggling to sell it. It's like they lost their fun and mojo.I'm taking friends to see them in Manchester, I'm just hoping that the show isn't based around III or else it will be a pretty depressing evening.
