Perfect gift!

I love Bettie page anything, I even have a tattoo of her! So, naturally, I wanted to check out these paper dolls. This could have so much potential but I think the artist spent much more time on the clothes than her faces. Some of the Bettie's look downright creepy. The faces are scary and the whole book just becomes laughable... It's sad.

I became fascinated with Betty Page many years back when I saw a black and white film on her life. She really was an innocent beautiful gal who got pulled into a "career" that sometimes came off a little sleazy, but SHE never was! She was so naive she only saw her work as playful and fun. And it really doesn't look very naughty today with so much exposure every where you look.Here is the darling pin-up as a darling pin-up paper doll, painted by the just as darling Bruce Patrick Jones. He really is such a nice guy!..and soooo talented. I love this book of his. He's captured the sweet playfulness of this classic pin-up gal, with brilliant illustration art techinques. Bruce's figure posing/drawing is perfection, his skin tones delicious, and the costumes are a delight. My first impressions of this book was pre-publication views of the original art...simply STUNNING! And the finished product is mighty fine as well.If you are a pin-up lover, or paper doll collector, or costume enthusiast, buy this book and enjoy!
