This is an excellent gentian tincture. The sweetness of the vegetable glycerin takes the edge off the bitterness of the gentian, but it's still plenty bitter and it is just as effective as an alcohol based extract. I take this before meals to get stomach acids flowing. It's a lifesaver. It works for acid reflux too, because that's caused by insufficient digestion.Since I use gentian every day, multiple times per day, the glycerin extract is a good choice because it keeps my alcohol intake as low as possible.So glad I found this product!

Weak as to strength compared to the 1200 mg in Nature's Answer brand, but still a good choice. No other ingredients to mess it up. Use this for heartburn and works amazing. Takes a few days to get working for you but I swear by it!!

Taste if fine. This is supposed to induce one's stomach to create more acid. I am using this to improve digestion. I cannot really tell if it is working. This is because I also take betaine hydrochloride with every meal. You will have to try this yourself to determine if it works for you. I am, however, satisfied that the potency and purity are in this product. The only 'bad" thing is how the product is packages. It comes in a very tight-fit white plastic wrapper. I used scissors to open it and accidentally cut the top off of the dropper. I am using a small ACCO brand clip to keep the bottle sealed. So, be CAREFUL how you get that wrapper off.
