North States Super Hook for Bird House, 36-Inch

I have a large and diverse population of birds as well as raccoons and opossums each with particular abilities to 'mess' with installations of hanging birdfeeders and flowering baskets. The raccoons have yet to destroy one of these hooks - although they may have successfully taken down the bird feeder attached to it! So far these hooks have withstood the effects of two tropical depressions (Harvey and Irma) in the Ohio Valley, high winds, now freezing rain and repeated assaults by raccoons and opossums, while holding assorted sizes and weights of birdfeeders - the heaviest one weighing approximately 4 pounds when totally filled along with several feeding birds. These have not shown any evidence of rust or wear on the cables or connections, and I expect they will continue to support everything without problems through the winter and into spring next year. I especially like the longer length (36") as very often the diameter of the tree branches is more that 6 " - this extra length allows you to places feeders or hanging baskets on heavier tree limbs and still have enough length for hanging an object. Next spring I plan to hang flowering baskets which are much heavier than birdfeeders - averaging about 20 pounds with everything in them. We'll see how they perform with hanging flower baskets next spring, but so far very good! I will definitely buy more of these!

Recently received a new Bird Feeder, came without a hanging cable. This item did the job and fit perfectly. Very affordable, heavy duty quality. I recommend it.

I thought the cable quality looked good and wanted this length to make my bird feeder a little more squirrel proof. Looked good, cable is supposed to hold 20 lbs. Bird feeder is 5. Snapped after being up for 2 hours. And it broke my feeder. Sad. The birds are also kinda sad.

Mine wasn’t strong enough to withstand the raccoon terrorist! The black wire came out of the metal it was clamped down in.

This hook works great!
