OS Explorer ACTIVE OL30 Yorkshire Dales - Northern & Central areas (OS Explorer Map Active)

I wanted to walked the Herriot Way and this map covers that route. As the Herriot way is not an officially recognized trail, the way is not clearly marked on the map, however this map will still be invaluable. I am absolutely the person to get lost, even with a map and compass in my hand, and so I did get lost, several times, but the map help. My son taught me to draw destination on the map with RED biro and mark the route with RED arrows. Also, and I hated this, he talked me into cutting out the section of map I needed, which actually turned out to be a great plan.My advice if you are walking the Herriot way is: write all over the map, draw arrows and boxes and cut out the bits you don't need.

The usual high quality that you would expect from OS maps, surely they are a national treasure. The map does not exactly fold totally flat on receipt but.....1, It would if they had made it smaller, but then it would not be the quality and value that it is now: 2, With use and or keeping it in a case or similar, it will soon go flatter. I really do not regard this as any sort of problem at all.

The map itself is good quality, but considerably bulkier than the pure paper version and I find more difficult to fold as a result.The maps comes with a code to enable you to download the map to a mobile device (using the OS maps app).The mobile app is OK, but I find you lose a lot of the map detail/symbols once you zoom in.

Just as you would expect from Ordnance Survey. Bought this along with the Southern section to for my visit to the Yorkshire Dales. great feature ws the digital version you can download when you purchase this. Good for villages, towns and cities where you have data coverage.

Great Map of a beautiful place. Really efficient service from the seller too. Most impressed. Slightly annoying that's printed on both sides but after some comedy folding all was well in the 'verse once more!

You wont get lost with these,lots of detail but don't try opening them up on a windy hill!

Usual good quality from OS. Also pleased to find it was updated in 2015, so very up to date.

Relocated within North Yorkshire this will help to get out and explore the Dales
