ALEA MosaicBrick Building Set, Leo, Christmas Crib

I bought this to do with my six-year-old since we didn't have a stable for our Peruvian nativity scene. I really love the end result. It was an enjoyable activity for me, and he did help with some of it, but it does take a few hours to put together and so he lost interest sometimes. The bricks and tiles are very "real" and many are imperfect, but I like that about it. There were enough extra pieces that I was able to add some more decoration than was shown in the instructions. The instructions are easy to understand, but for the parquet floor I had to take a colored pencil and color in each brick on the diagram as I went along so as not to lose my place. The bricks showed any excess glue as stains and so at the end I covered all of the brick parts with a coat of homemade Modpodge (1 cup school glue, 1/3 cup water). The only reason I removed a star is because the instructions seem to imply that the wooden pieces will just "click" together, and it's absolutely not that easy. You have to be so careful or the thin wood will break apart. Even with adult, steady hands, I had to work so slowly and carefully to put together the frame. Some of the holes cut into the wood were incorrectly shaped or missing entirely. There was no way the manger was going to go together because the holes were way too small for the pegs, but luckily for us our baby Jesus lays on a blanket, anyway. All in all, I'm very happy with it, it was a pleasant way to pass a few hours, and I'm thinking it will hold up for many years.

Super Set um eine Krippe selber zu bauen, besonders wenn man keine Zeit mehr hat, sich selbst eine auszudenken.Auch super für die Kids um sich etwas in Geschicklichkeit und Geduld beim Aufbau zu üben. Preis Leistung passt absolut. Und Spaß macht der Aufbau außerdem.Weil mir ein paar Steine im Set fehlten, hab ich den Verkäufer kontaktiert.Top Service, die fehlenden Teile waren 2 Tage später da.Fazit: Kaufempfehlung meinerseits!
