Woodcraft Purpleheart 3" x 6" x 6" 1-Piece

The wood itself is beautiful and in perfect condition. I would've given 5 stars if the dimensions were correct.One side was a quarter inch short of 6 while the other was another eighth shorter than that. Not a single squared edge on the entire block.Since this piece is intended for a chessboard I'll be making the material loss to square it up means I may have to purchase another smaller piece of purple heart. I'll be lucky if I don't and even moreso if I do and the color matches.

I actually wasn't planning on turning this blank, just bought it to make knife handles and miscellaneous things, but it arrived well waxed for turning but wasn't 100% square. Another thing I liked about it is that it was definitely nice heartwood, it could've been set out for a longer time period for that deep purple color but I just set it out for awhile myself and it turned out nice. Definitely will buy again. :)
