Kirby is back, BIGGER AND BETTER THAN EVER BEFORE!!!
Let me start off by saying that one of my favorite Nintendo games from the 1990's was titled "Kirby's Adventure" and I currently own it on my Nintendo Wii (I downloaded it from the Wii Shop Channel for some $$). I also own and love "Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards" on my Nintendo Wii (originally, that game was on the Nintendo 64 platform). Let me tell you all about how "Kirby's Return to Dream Land" is like and unlike those two games.First off, it is more like "Kirby's Adventure" than "Kirby 64" and I will explain why. Kirby is a pink puffball that is best known for being able to inhale his enemies and copy their abilities, making thier ability/abilities his very own. So, for example, if Kirby's enemy has a sword and Kirby inhales the enemy, he gets the sword. Pretty simple huh? Not so much so when Nintendo released "Kiby's Epic Yarn" for the Nintendo Wii which does not have Kirby's inhaling ability, but this review is not about that game. To win at Kirby, you need to know that Kirby wins by inhaling his enemies, and so he does so again in this game, big time. However, there are some major changes to Kirby here that should be noted. In "Kirby's Adventure," Kirby is able to inhale only one (1) enemy's ability. In "Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards," Kirby can mix-and-match and inhale up to two (2) different or the same type of enemies at one (1) time! However, in "Kirby's Return to Dream Land," Kirby can only inhale one (1) enemy maximum. That is not to say that his ability with that power is limited. Far from it! If he has the sword, for example, he can do so much with it, unlike in "Kirby's Adventure," where he can only swing it forward. In "Kirby's Return to Dream Land," Kirby can swing the sword up, shoot lasers from the sword, and even make huge sword attacks with a special sword ability! Everything for every ability that you get is explained to you when you press the minus (-) button on the Wii Remote during game play. That is another great thing about this game, it tells how to do the moves, sometimes right in the middle of the level, and if you perform the move correctly, you get a green check mark! So, Nintendo tried so hard to make this game as simple as possible while still presenting a challenge because here is what you have to do. You have to help this alien whose spaceship has crashed. His parts have scattered all over DreamLand and it is up to you to get the parts back. Up to 4 players can play along. No nunchucks needed! You have to collect parts for the ship along the way to unlock levels, but as you play, you will see how to do it, especially in the first level (which I think a Kindergartener could finish with ease!) That is not to say that this game is not challenging, for it is!So, if you want 1990's Kirby brought back from the dead, than this game is for you. As you play it, you can see some traces of Zelda, Mario, and even Donkey Kong style put into this game if you look hard enough. I am not saying that these characters are in the game, I am saying that the style of the games that those characters appear in, the same style can be found in "Kirby's Return to Dream Land" for the Nintendo Wii. It is well worth the $50.00 that I paid for it and I think it is the best Nintendo Wii game ever made so far. My second favorite Nintendo Wii game is "Super Mario Galaxy 2" and my third favorite is "Mario Kart Wii".So, have fun. You will not regret this purchase. I guarantee it! If you are a fan of Zelda, Donkey Kong, Mario, or Kirby from the 1990's, then this game is for you, big time! You will not be able to put it down once you start, believe me. Just a warning for you from me. Oh, and sorry this review was so long. I hope I was helpful.

Kirby is back!
After ten years of making a Kirby game I've liked (Kirby 64) they make this. Kirby's Return to Dreamland is a side scroller platformer similar to the other games in the series, this game also features 4 player multiplayer letting Waddle Dee, King DeDeDe and Meta Knight to help Kirby on his adventure. The story of this game is Kirby and others are out in Dreamland Meta Knight reading a book and Kirby getting chased by Waddle Dee and King DeDeDe over a cake (Squeak Squad reference?) then all of a sudden a ship comes out of a dark star and crashes all of its ship parts getting scattered along with it. Kirby and others investigate and find someone unconciouss this person is the owner of the ship. The minute the new charater gets up he/she (dunno what gender) realizes all of the ship parts are missing. Kirby and others promise to help regain the ship parts. Each level has things called "Energy Spheres" scattered across the levels and as you collect more replay value and fun little minigames will be unlocked inside of the ship which acts as a HUB you can visit the ship if you want to take a break from the normal adventure or if you want to take a crack at the challenging extra challenge area that features one of Kirby's power-ups. The graphics are basically Gamecube graphics which is something the Wii usually has for its games. However despite lacking voice acting and graphics I couldn't put the game down! This game takes about 2 hours to beat if you're not collecting anything and about 5 hours to beat if you're going for 100%. Something I like about this game more than New Super Mario Bros. Wii is the Multiplayer isn't as frustrating to work and makes it very easy for you. The game also has REALLY catchy music. Also there's quite an interesting plot twist later in the game which added suspense and I liked that a lot.Scores:Gameplay: 9/10Music: 10/10Multiplayer: 9/10Story: 8/10Overall: This is a pretty good game but it's easy and short IF you aren't doing the replay value. The replay value makes it difficult for veteran gamers and makes it so the game is for everyone so I give this game a 9/10 BUY or RENT IT NOW!

Love Kirby!
After a year I finally got this game! I was so happy to finally play a Kirby game that was just like Kirby Super Star. I missed eating the cute little enemies and using their abilities. I absolutely love using the special powers when eat the Super Hothead guy or the Super Blade Knight. I admit this game was a bit easy. I love hardcore games, but I always enjoy a good ol' Kirby game. I did die a couple of times in the game, which is good, because that shows that I need to get better at it and challenge myself :) There are some abilities that I wish they would of kept in the game like Wheelie Bike and becoming Wheelie Rider Kirby. There's also the Yo-yo ability when inhaling Gim :( and the Jet when inhaling Capsule J. Those were awesome abilities, but I can always use them in Kirby Super Star Ultra! When you collect enough spheres, you can unlock mini games to challenge yourself on how well you're good with the ability. I also like the new abilities like the water, tornado, and a whip ones. There's also two sub-games you can play and of course you can't forget the arena!! Overall, this game is awesome and the graphics and colors are beautiful. 5 stars :)
