This step is impressive and strong.
Everything about this step was well worth the price.Instructions were ok, but as usual I watched a YouTube video on the installation which made it so much more easy.Install took about 2 hours laying on my back on driveway. Two holes are required to be drilled. They supply a template to ensure proper drilling placement.I mounted this on driver side of my 2018 Silverado Duramax Midnight Edition.I'm quite sure I will order one for passenger side. This step includes instructions for mounting on a 1500, 2500 and 3500.This will greatly help loading my truck for our travels. Some may think it's pricey, but it is really worth it.I would recommend everyone to buy one.I'm 62 and had no problems installing this.

2018 GMC Sierra
Put this on my wife's 2018 GMC Sierra 1500 w/ 6" lift and 35's. Mounting was easy though we did run in to a tiny problem. On the main bracket that mounts to the bumper, the bolt holes were to tight for the factor bolts to go through and I had to run a drill through them and open them up a slight bit. Perhaps the tight fit was caused by the powder coating on the bracket? None the less it was an easy fix and outside of that it was a easy install. Taking my time, it took approx. 30min to install and was able to use my Dewalt 3/8" driver for almost all of the work (though you will need an extension or two.)Once installed the step sits tightly up and under the truck but it doesn't touch the body and enough of it sticks out that you can easily push it down with your foot. My 5'4 wife can now easily get in and out of the bed of her "monster truck". Good product, good purchase.

Easy install and they tuck out of the way
I bought two of these for my 2018 GMC Sierra. The first one took about an hour to install. The second side (the next day) took about 20 minutes. Very easy to install. The rivet nuts take a 17/32 drill bit which I didn't have. I used one size larger than half inch and dremel with a stone to open the hole a little bit. The instructions say to tighten the rivet nut to 20 ft. lbs. but they spun in the hole when the bolt was tightened. I used a battery powered impact wrench to tighten them (not too tight like the instructions state). I wasn't able to get a torque wrench on the bolts during final assembly and had to use a small 1/4" drive socket to tighten.I have a 6.5' bed with factory side steps. I had to move the foot plate closer to the wheel like the picture in the instructions for the 5.5' bed in order to not hit the steps. It looks perfect.

The plastic steps seem to flex a little too much to feel that comfortable doing any kind of serious work while on them
As shown and advertised... beware... there is some serious installation skills required as there are 2 holes that need to be drilled, in tight quarters for this installation. I would not classify this as an "easy installation". NOT a BOLT-ON PRODUCT!!! Also, the steps themselves could be a little sturdier. The plastic steps seem to flex a little too much to feel that comfortable doing any kind of serious work while on them. Also, should probably not be picking up a heavy load while on them, the rated 300lbs is probably the actual maximum.

Fits perfectly
Perfect fit for my 2014 GMC Sierra standard cab, 6.5’ bed. The factory holes were there and lined up perfectly with this product. Very intuitive installation. Clever design of brackets and bolts made installation easy. There’s a little flex when stepped on but seems sturdy enough for my 185 lbs. I don’t recall what it’s rated for but I would be cautious of users over 200. Snaps down/snaps up with ease and I have no fear the step will drop down by itself even on the heaviest bumps. Just remember to put it back up before driving off. Excellent ground clearance. Sits higher than rear bumper. It is a bit pricey however.

Works great
Easy to install took about 20 minutes. Wish it was a little further towards the rear of the bed.

Adds easier access to your tool box and bed.
The steps are a nice addition to my work truck, it allows me better access to my bed mounted tool box. Feels sturdy and solid but then again I took the time to install them correctly. Follow the instructions use the correct drill bit and don't over tighten the bolts or rivet nuts. The first one takes the longest second was much quicker. As you can see in the pictures I provided they fit tight to the bed when not being used and extend out far enough to be of use. I did buy one for both sides again pay attention the same kit is used for both sides you just configure it for the drivers side or passenger side.

Pricey! Should be available in sets of two at a savings.
Bought these for my 2019 Silverado 2500. I picked them up to make it easier to access the bed behind the cab when our fifth wheel trailer is attached. The build quality of the steps seems to be very good. The step pads themselves are adjustable left or right to suit your preference. I’m a 68 year old male and didn’t find them very difficult to install. It took me almost 2 hours to install the first one as there is a learning curve, and about an hour to install the second one.

Don't even think about installing this without a 17/32 inch drill bit!
The media could not be loaded. I will start off by saying that my review is of the product and not the seller. The seller shipped the items very quickly and they arrived almoat a week ahead of schedule in the original packaging and the boxes were in good shape. If I was rating the seller I would give 5 stars. In fact I gave an extra star because the seller was excellent. I ordered 2 of these for driver and passenger side. A few years ago I slipped off the factory running board when reaching into the front of the cargo bed of my 2017 GMC Denali dually and landed with my whole 235lbs on the side of my ankle on a rolled curb like a sack of potato's and spent 8 months in a walking cast. Now everytime I have to reach into the front of the bed of my truck to strap down my quad I have flash backs and go into a cold sweat because when I fell it hurt like H-E double hockey sticks. I have been wanting to buy these for some time but just couldn't justify the cost. After installing a twin turbo setup on the truck (I race Corvettes now) I said "what the H-E double hockey sticks, what's another $786 (I'm in Canada)" and bought them. When I unboxed them all the parts came indivually wrapped in either taped brown paper or bubble wrap. One of the pair was in perfect condition, the other one had scratches in the paint but the paper covering the scratched part was in perfect condition so this leads me to believe it was scratched at the factory and still wrapped up and shipped out - very poor QA. I ended up having to touch up the paint before installing them as they are exposed to the weather, road salt, etc. and I don't want it to rust out without me knowing and have it break on me while standing it and end up, in say, a walking cast again. I didn't appreciate having to paint a new and somewhat expensive item before being able to install it. Then the installation itself, first off this is way over engineered and heavy for nothing. This could have easily been engineered to use existing bolt holes and been no-drill. In fact, it could have been made with a simple U channel that clamps onto the frame under the box, allowing it to be installed where the user wants to access the box. For me the canister for my roll up tonneau cover is right above the step so I am still not reaching directly into the box but rather diagonally into it again, like I did from the factory running board without the tonneau. The way they made it is bulky, heavy, and has at least 2 more pieces then it should in my opinion. Then we get into having to drill holes, and one per side into the frame, which is always fun as it is hardened steel. The tool list calls for a 17/32 drill bit, I don't know about the USA but in Canada this size doesn't exist. I checked all the large hardware chain stores and none of them carry it. I don't know why the manufacturer chose such a one off size when 1/2 inch probably would have done the trick. So I started looking for alternative ways to do it and watched a YouTube video that said you could use a step bit. All I have to say is don't - just order the right drill bit and don't even think of the install unless you have a 17/32 drill bit in your hands. The manufacturer should have included one in the kit as they do the rivnut tool at this price. I started to drill the hole in the frame with a step bit and realized that the metal was pretty thick and I was going to end up with a hole that was wider on the outside wall compared to the inside wall. The way the rivnut works you definitely don't want this. So then I drilled it out with a 1/2 inch bit and figured I would use a round file to slowly make the hole bigger to insert the rivnut. This worked ok for the holes for the rivnuts that go in the bedrails but for the ones that go into the thick hardened steel frame this didn't work that easily. It took me over 5 hours with a round file and a dremel to get the holes wide enough in the frame for the rivnuts to fit. If you make the holes too big you are going to have to break out your welder so trust me on this - find the 17/32 inch bit before you start. After getting them installed and adjusted so the steps were aligned with the body when retracted, and so the step or the retracting arm didn't touch the body, which was no easy feat and took another 2 hours due to the number of bolts you have to fiddle with, I was pretty disappointed that I couldn't push the step down with my foot while wearing a pair of steel toes. So I tried with a pair of runners but I can still barely get it and run the risk of marring the paint over time. So I find I have to extend and retract them with my hands, which I found out the hard way is just as well because if you push the bottom of the step with your foot to have it retract under its own power the step slams the body hard enough to remove paint, despite not touching the body in it's resting position. I ended up having to touch up some small chips this caused while they were fresh so the weather and road salt wouldn't cause rust. I bet if the people who have been using their foot to flip up the step check the paint just below the step they are going to be as pleased as I was. In the end I don't think there are other options out there and I am hoping once I use them they will hopefully be a little handy now that I'm out $786 and have drilled holes in my frame but the reality is that these are worth about $350 for a pair at the most. Hopefully they fix the design or another truck upfitter comes out with a better and more cost effective alternative.
