Dinosaur Roar

This is an excellent selection for preschool age children. Simple text, fantastic illustrations, the opportunity to roar! I use it every year in my classroom library.

The media could not be loaded.  This is one of my kids, favorite books! The pages have words that rhyme, the illustrations are vivid, and fun, and the kids really enjoy this book!

2 year old obsessed with dinosaurs loves it. It’s a very quick read but the pictures are really entertaining and you can make it even funnier by making voices that match the pictures. My son has already memorized the entire book and will pretend to read it to us. Great for learning adjectives, diversity, new vocabulary and even colors. The only thing to be aware of, if this is something that’s important to you: one of the dinosaurs is described as “fat” which might not be a word that some parents would want young children to use (or misuse). But, that can remedied by using a different adjective or teaching older children the concept of polite and impolite words.

My daughter is 2 and a half and she loves books. Her previous collection was embarrassing as the bindings were falling apart and the corners were all destroyed. It's not that she destroys them on purpose, but when she finds a board book that she loves, it goes with her everywhere: friends houses, restaurants, car rides, doctor visits, etc. Needless to say it was time to update her book collection and I took a few titles that were age appropriate according to Parents Magazine, and "Dinosaur ROAR!" is one of her new ones. SHE ABSOLUTELY LOVES IT! She loved it when she unwrapped it for Christmas and doesn't let it rest lol. It's become her new companion. She loves the pictures, the colors, and asks me to read it to her at least once a day. So if you're looking for a book that your toddler will like, I definitely recommend this one since my daughter carries it along now where ever she goes :)

This booknwas a favorite of both of my boys when they were small. My younger son still has his copy and will not part with it even though he is 14! He has moved on from dinosaurs to dragons but at least he still likes to read!I bought these for gifts to give to other little dinosaur lovers that I know.

It's short but does a lot!Each spread features a simple comparision of 2 different dinosaurs. It's a simple book of opposites that feature vibrant water color illustrations that are wonderfully painted to illustrate the comparison concepts."Dinosaur clean, dinosaur slimmy." "Dinosaur fit, dinosaur fat." "Dinosaur short or very very long." spiky / lumpy etc.etc. It rhymes comfortably throughout. I've taken my examples out of order. But that's the idea of comparing opposites.The fierce dinosaur is smaller than the meek one which is huge! That's an interesting juxtaposition, much like in real life!I love it for the simple comparison of opposites with fun visuals!

I read this to the kids so many times! I was looking for it for a gift for someone, and was disappointed at not finding it in the store (I was told, "This book is pretty old..." Seriously??). A nice read. :)

This book is full of dinosaurs, which is all my daughter could ask for. It's a bit simple for her age but she still enjoyed it immensely, even if some of the words used to rhyme were pretty odd.

Kids still love it and they are 8 and 10 now they read it to us and use different voices for the different dinosaurs awesome book

Simple but entertaining book for my 2 year old

This is a really tiny book, but our 2-year old has enjoyed it thoroughly for the last 6 months. He still isn't bored of it yet, asks to be read from it once every fortnight or so. (The trick is to do all the sound effects.)

Love it! Lovely illustrations, the wording is very simple and basic, perfect for the little ones too. And it has a huge dinosaurs posters at the back

I read this with my children and am now recommending it for other people's grandchildren. It's brilliant; you can do voices, and noises, and the illustrations are beautiful. This isn't a promo, but there's a jigsaw puzzle that goes with it - which stretches over the whole living room floor - it's massive for a young child, and really impressive but simple to put together. The book and jigsaw are in my 'never letting go' section of the old toy cupboard. These are one of the very special ones.
