KST COATING KST040320-99 Black Butyl Tape, 2" x 42"

My solar panel for my security camera couldn't be installed on the west side of the house because obviously the sun comes up from the East So I had to mount the camera on the siding towards the target point facing west and had to figure out how to install the solar panel towards the sun rise (East). For this, I had to install the small 5w solar panel for security cameras on the roof above the camera aiming East towards the sun rise. I simply just cut a small square to cover the base of the camera pole and drilled down the holes. When drilling down, the screws grabs the tar and swirls it down into the screw hole making it totally water proof and makes the mount of the pole very tight.. It will become more secure as the weather get warmer and the tape melts everything into place. I learned this technique while installing Satellite Dishes. This is what techs do when drilling down into the holes under the base of the dish so it doesn't leak. Complaints about leakage occurs when dish bases are drilled onto roofs when irresponsible techs don't bother to use tar tape such as this one.

Easy to work with from the wrapper. Molds nicely and tacks very quickly to itself.

This is basically putty on a roll. If you have a use for putty in long lengths, then this is your stuff. If you are looking to coat AC lines like I was, then this is not the stuff you want. For that I found the specialized material I was looking for which is cork tar based: FJC 2862 30' A/C Insulation Tape Roll

Stopped leaky camper roof and has made it halfway through the winter without issue under constant on the road use

I use this stuff to patch my rain gutters. It works like a champ, especially if you apply it when it's warm outside. You do want to get the surface clean before applying, of course, but it's pretty forgiving even if it's not perfectly clean.I've also used this on the roof of a couple of campers and it is wonderful there as well.

As advertised and easy to work with

This is the best for sealing leaks in gutters where they are sectioned together. plyable and thick enough to spread over any piece that is leacking, no matter how large the gap.

Fast delivery, worked all right, but this tape doesn't stay but as others I have purchased. I was using it vertically and had to get up on ladder every day to push it back in place. Eventually, it held.Update 9/13/20: KST Coating KSTo40320 Black Butyl Tape 2" x 42" This butyl Tape fell off the crack I used it to fill between my flashing and building; it was a complete waste of effort and money. I had to push it against the flashing 25 times over summer, then pulled it out. It also didn't work on the stack and rubber gasket to make sure that was sealed causing me to have to plaster the bathroom ceiling from rain leakage. I had purchased another brand that was excellent and is still where I put it five years ago. This is junk.
