Down to Earth OMRI Organic Granular Root Zone, 8 oz

I was very excited to find this on Amazon after I read about it in the Down to Earth pamphlet, but my nursery didn't carry it. I received it yesterday, just in time to plant my new blueberry bushes. Root Zone was the only Down to Earth fungi product recommended for low pH plants (other types of plants have 2 additional recommended fungi products, both granular and soluble). I got a different soluble fungi package for my established indoor house plants, and -wow- the granular is far easier to handle. The soluble form gets everywhere and doesn't dissolve very easily.The description doesn't tell you how far this package will go... for me, the 8 oz. package was enough to put under 4 blueberry bushes while transplanting, with a little left over for another small plant. I put about 1/4 cup (4 Tbsp) under each plant. I could have gotten away with 2 Tbsp. but more is better- right?We dug up the whole bed about 4-6" deep and removed a ton of grass and roots from old plants. The soil had a pH of 7.0, but the blueberries needed a pH of about 4.5. We mixed it with the following before putting it back in the bed: 6-1.5 cu ft bags Master Nursery acid planting mix, 3 lbs. Down to Earth acid mix for the whole bed, 2 lbs. Down to Earth starter mix, 2 smaller bags of peat moss, and 2 lbs. soil sulfur. In the soil around each plant we mixed in: 1/4 cup Down to Earth starter mix, 1/2 cup Down to Earth acid mix, 2 Tbsp. soil sulfur, 1/4 cup Down to Earth root zone.It was probably overkill; I did a ton of research and wanted the blueberries to survive. We shall see. I hope to update this review with progress on the bushes later.

It's bad enough to sell an old product as new, especially one that diminishes over time. Even worse is to apply a sticker over the top of the date of manufacture. Very deceptive!

This product saved my avocado tree! I live in Alaska and started as avocado tree from seed indoors, When the tree was almost a year old it started tho die due to a root fungus common to avocados. A friend recommended this product. I made holes near the trunk with a chopstick and poured the prescribed amount divided by my six holes reach the roots. I one week, my tree looked great!

Super excited to add this to my new Garden. This 8oz bag is enough for about 400 dollars worth of plants and seeds (maybe more if you follow the actual measurements lol), Now I wait.

Excellent addition to the garden this year, I've seen an explosion in root growth for several varieties of veggies planted this year. Will definitely buy again for the garden next year.
