Approaching Perfection
First impressions of this Fractal Ion PSU are excellent. The packaging is neat and purposeful without being excessive. The PSU is protected by a substantial Styrofoam enclosure and a woven pouch bearing the Fractal Design logo. Four standard PSU mounting screws are supplied.Fractal are proud of their new 'Ultraflex' cables, and they do seem much easier to cable manage than standard wires. By way of comparison, the EVGA cables in the PSU the Ion replaced required a large amount of patience and 'persuasion' to induce them to behave. The Ion cables are supplied neatly twist-tied in a zip-lock pouch. Velcro cable ties are also included, which is a nice touch. The PSU is compact but feels solid. The fit and finish is excellent. The casing is a combination of matt black with gloss black accents, and the level of refinement is superior to power supplies that cost substantially more. The EVGA Supernova 1600W T2 that I sold and replaced with this feels crude in comparison. I installed the Ion 560P in a case that has a PSU shroud, but I'd be perfectly happy to install it in a case that left it exposed, it's that aesthetically pleasing. The FDB PSU fan is near silent in normal use but there is a 'Zero RPM' option should you need it that allows the PSU to operate in silent and passive mode in low load situations.I can't really find much of anything to fault. If I was being hypercritical, I may mention that the supplied mounting screws aren't black, but I used a spare set of black PSU mounting screws that came with my PC case, so this wasn't an issue.A near perfect component. One that I'm really pleased to have purchased and would have no hesitation in recommending.Thank you for reading my review, I hope you've found it helpful.

Future proofing at its most essential and basic
Together with a friend (who gifted me a few pieces of essential hardware) a PC was rescued from the roadside. Surprisingly the machine worked!! All it needed was a new harddrive and a Windows install. However, I replaced the Motherboard and CPU, RAM and graphics card (thanks to my friend) and ran the machine. But the PSU though running without complaint or issue was 12 years old and non modular.Seen this PSU by Fractal Design and after running it by my friend, decided to get and install it. I'm very glad I did, because now my Graphics Card has its own dedicated power cable, and my two Hard drives (an SSD and a regular "Spinny Rust" HDD share a power cable. It's very quiet, no noise, and (so far's I can tell) just doing its 80+ Titanium Rated efficiency thing of supplying my rig with power.Long story short I'm a very happy & satisfied customer!!

Dead on arrival
Dead on arrival, real disappointment. In trying to work out what was wrong, ended up bending some pins on my motherboard. Really frustrating that a product just arrives completely non functional.
