A Comfortable Chair for a Patio or Deck
These two chairs replaced two identical chairs bought 20+ years ago and used heavily in the intervening late springs, summers, and early falls. These new chairs came with regular canvs seats and backs; they don't last as long as the frames. I prefer the new sun-resistant seats and backs which seem to last as long as the frames, while also resisting the fading/bleaching that the regular canvas seats and backs experience out in the sun.

I have a dozen of them of all ages. Still the same great quality.
The only difference in the latest chairs is there is no strong rounding over the inside of the arms. That's it. Otherwise, the exact same quality and parts that I have used for over 3 decades. Yes, the canvas is too tight to get the brackets to lock. I just don't bother as there is no real difference in the seating, heh. I use a memory foam cushion ( Kensington 82024 Memory Foam Seat Rest here on Amazon) and can sit in the chairs for hours. I don't use them outside so the finish is still great on even the oldest chair. I have had a couple of canvas seats fail but there are replacements here and are inexpensive. A couple had some mold or faded after 20 years but I just replaced them as well. They handled a growing family of boys and not one wood member broke. Ever. Some just went to my older sons new place and these chairs went with him. Time for some new ones.

Very comfortable Director's Chair
I love this chair. We have two of them and store them under an overhanging bar counter top and then pull them out when we want to sit by the fire or if we have extra guests (pre COVID). I bought a lovely brown one on Amazon but there was only one and none of the other available colors were what I was looking for. I ordered my second, a dark red one, from a local patio supply store and it cost about $40 more.

Nice; just a few tiny flaws
This is a nice, sturdy director's chair: same classic style I grew up with. Very comfortable and very sturdy. That being said, the finish could use a bit more "care" on the manufacturer's side... the arms were smooth, but other areas of the wood were pretty rough (as in, not sanded enough) and I even got a couple small splinters while unfolding it.Now, because I love this style of chair and because it's still a classy and comfortable item, I didn't feel like returning it. So I just busted out a fine-grain sanding sponge, smoothed down the rough areas, and then rubbed a bit of Watco Danish wood oil all over it. Now it's smooth, beautiful, and it will probably last a lifetime. Again, I want to emphasize that this is a *sturdy* and well-built chair, made in the USA (rare), and other than the rough areas, I'm a happy customer.

After 3 full days of 8 hour use, I suffered none of the achy-back feelings as I have had in cheaper chairs
Very nice chair. Purchased to use at a conference, having it delivered directly to the conference site. After 3 full days of 8 hour use, I suffered none of the achy-back feelings as I have had in cheap, plastic, conference chairs. The only reason it did not receive 5 stars: despite being listed as "dining height," I felt as though the chair was very low. I did attempt to pull the chair up to a portable display (dining height) table and found myself sitting too low to comfortably enjoy my lunch. Suspect that this chair may be better when used with outdoor tables that tend to ride a bit lower than indoor tables. Aside from the height issue, loved everything about this chair and was sad when we could not transport it away from the conference site!

Chair arrived broken, poorly packed.
The chair looked to be what I wanted and was a great price but I was disappointed when It arrived with one arm broken. Poorly packed, and no offer to replace. Yes. I got a refund but , what a Shame, It could have been a great chair.

Wood finish variation
Finish variation is too extreme despite ordering natural for both. I recognize some variation is inevitable but this is really too drastic. One or the other needs to be replaced to match.

Classy
These chairs are beautiful. The walnut color is perfect and with the natural covers they simply look classy. We are using them as kitchen chairs with our new fsrmhouse kitchen table. Worth every penny.
