but the lid does not stay up when you open it, which not only makes it hard to put mail or out of it, but when it closes, it does so with a loud bang.

This is a nice heavy mail box. I think it would last a long time. We had to return it tho because it doesn't fit the space we have for the mail box. Make sure you have a sturdy surface because it's pretty heavy. Also, if you have to return it, make sure you keep the original packing because the company reduces the return by 50%.

Beautiful mail box. Got the white one to go with my white door. So pretty. Sturdy. Looks so classy. My husband was able to secure it well, since it’s not too light which I like. I didn’t want a Tin like mailbox. Very happy and recommend it for sure

the color of this product was a bit deceptive as it was more of a bronze than it looked in the picture. Additionally I have found after the rains that my mail is all wet. I had replaced my previous mail box for this very reason so I'm rather disappointed to find wet mail once againI painted the mail box black so it now matches my gate and it looks beautiful. The wet mail is a problem.

Had the part with the mail actually been letter to legal size, that would have met my needs. The actual mail receptacle is much smaller than the dimensions listed and will bend magazine or 8 1/2 X 11 letter size envelopes. Too bad. It looked nice.

The color matches my light perfectly, the size is great, most mail from small to somewhat large will fit. I didn't use the newspaper legs, installed it without them. There's no holes or gaps where the legs go so you can't tell that there's "something" missing. It was simple to install, took about 2 minutes with a drill and a screwdriver. It's got a good amount of weight to it. It's not cheap, or light in weight, but it's not too heavy either. Very well made and sturdy. I love it. It was a great purchase.

Love this mailbox! Extremely roomy, attractive, and a conversation piece. It’s classy and I have received many compliments. I know longer have to put my mail on hold at the post office when out of town for several weeks as it holds lots of mail.
