For whatever reason there are very few quality choices in cases for the 16." I've done a lot of research and the reality is that even the best reviewed cases for the 16" are lacking in one or more areas, so you have to somewhat lower your expectations and decide what features are most important to you. If you want something relatively lightweight, attractive while providing protection from nicks and dents—this is your case. I have tried cheaper alternatives and they all have had pieces crack off and generally did not fit well. This one fits nicely and covers better than the other options out there. I do not expect it will save my laptop if it were to fall but that's why I use a cushioned carrying case—I've dropped mine on concrete before and will not make the mistake of trusting a case alone to protect it. That said, I am prone to walking in to things while carrying this around, and this provides enough coverage and durability to avoid those small damages. The MacBook is not very efficient at cooling itself, so I don't hold that against the case, though it does not seem to heat up any more than usual.

I only gave this four stars cuz it was just barely too small. I still managed to get it on fine but one of the little clasps on the side almost snapped off and looks like it might rather soon. Otherwise it’s stayed on fine and looks nice.

This is my first time using a shell case. The case was easy to put on. But every time I move my computer around there is a tiny bit of give in where the case meets the laptop. I don't fear that the case will fall off, but it doesn't always feel 100% secure. To be honest though, the amount of force required to accidentally force the case off would warrant more concern over the laptop itself.The case is not really fingerprint proof, but neither is the mac. So I clean it moderately often. But I do that with or without a case anyways, so it is nothing more than usual, but at least I have some protection.Lastly, the case doesn't latch on "cleanly". There are tiny, thin lengths of the shell (1-2cm) that hold it in place. I assume this is the case, so that there isn't a constant force being applied across the body and screen of the laptop.

This appears to be a good quality, well-made case. However, it is made for the previous versions of the 16 inch MacBook Pro. As you can see by the pictures with the difference in ports available to include HDMI and SD card, this case does not fit the MacBook Pro A2485

The case is beautiful, but it doesn’t snap in place very well around the screen. It fits great on the bottom half of the computer, but the top it you move the case, the case will lift off the screen. Wonder how well it would hold up if dropped.

Disappointed the rough edges caught on my nice clothes - sweaters and dresses. I’m an active photographer, always on the go. Price is high for product that breaks. Corners all cracked and broke from normal everyday packing up, working on the go.Otherwise really like the case. Maybe it should have a shelf-life. Replace at 12 months eg

Water Resistance? It itself, is impermeable to water, and does not get destroyed by water; but, it will not protect your macbook from water in any useful way. It will protect the nice aluminum finish from scratches though. One of the clips that holds it on to the macbook has been damaged by normal use, but not enough to compromise its purpose. Great for traveling. Might increase the total temperature of the macbook if running energy intensive functions, as it insulates the aluminum casing.

I purchased this hardshell case after having good success with a different model for an older MacBook Pro.Like the title says, it just works. The case itself comes in two pieces, for the top and bottom and are fairly rigid. It is slightly textured and semi-translucent. I appreciate that the pieces are fit very well without the laptop wiggling around.To install you gently insert your screen into the top piece, then the bottom into the other. Make sure you that all sides are all the way in and that's it.After a few weeks of ownership, I do see that oils will attach to the surface but wiping the case down with a damp cloth is just fine.Great product--will buy from again.

The packaging was great. The shell is hard, but not brittle, so it's less likely to crack at the corners upon impact. Great overall so far.

Quality and fitting of this case works perfectly with my 2020 MacBook Pro 16”. It is quite dark in colour and as yet hasn’t scratched or dented by normal day to day use.
