During World War II, Marion (Jan-Michael Vincent, The Mechanic, 1972) fails out of basic training from the Marines and is forced to wear a light blue uniform, signifying his standing. On his way home, Marion has his clothes taken during a mugging by a marine looking to stay out of being commissioned again. Left with only the mugger's marine uniform, Marion wears it and is mistaken for a war hero in a small town where several boys are being shipped out to fight. There, Marion meets Rose (Glynnis O'Connor, The Boy in the Plastic Bubble), and the two fall in love. Also featuring Richard Gere (Pretty Woman), Bruno Kirby (Donnie Brasco) and Katherine Helmond (TV's "Soap"), BABY BLUE MARINE is a compelling drama.

Great movie
Watched this movie in the 70's, popped in my head last month and looked it up on Amazon and found it with ease, little expensive for a movie that old but it's only money.

Great movie.
I first partially saw this movie in the '70s maybe about 30 minutes worth. Ever since then the movie came into my mind for whatever reason. I finally bought it a couple of weeks ago and saw the entire movie. I really enjoyed it. A few of the actors became huge and a couple have passed away. Now I can get it out of my head.

Baby Blue Marine
A tender, scenic backdrop sets the stage in one of his best, if you like Jan-Michael Vincent. He washes out of The Marines Basic Training & wears the traditional light blue uniform to signify not making the grade of a Marine. He meets a fine girl and enlists in the Army and becomes a soldier. The inner workings of the plot enter the film in various ways, including the search for a Native American that comes to Jan-Michael being shot.It has that warm feeling that may make some women cry. It ranks up there with "The Mechanic" with Charles Bronson & Jan-Michael.

Great movie with Jan Michael Vincent, Richard Gere and Glynis O’Connor
Wanted to get a copy of this movie, Fred Karlin covers I’ll Be Seeing You during the end credits, I love his version of singing that song.

another fine film starring Jan-Michael Vincent
A marine flucks out of his training and is sent home wearing a baby blue suit as a sign of his failure. On his way home he is mugged and left almost naked but the clothes of his attacker, a corporal...( Richard Gere) so he takes up the new uniform and is treated like a hero in his new idenity...He falls in love with a local girl..Good film about a time forgotten during World War 2

I coudn't play it in my DVD player
Great Movie, but I couldn't play it in my DVD Player. I had to use my Kid's X-Box to play it.Wouldn't order from these guys or site again based upon that. Loved the movie but would buy from somewhere else so I can play it. Maybe WalMart ? Somewhere it is easy to take back if it doesn't play.Don.
