Golden Best Series

I really enjoyed this CD of Kyu Sakamoto's greatest hits. It has the famous "Sukiaki" tune along with many other familiar tunes of it's day sung in Japanese/English combo or plain Japanese language. All well produced, the songs are a great example of his versatility and talent.

Lovely CD with great music. Sad the singer died so young.

After a very long surch i finaly found that one song....Sukiyaki.. That's the reason i bought this album.I have listen to the other track's and they are not bad.A few covers of original songs in japanese and others i never heard of.After all i'm happy with my purchase.

どういうわけか「見上げてごらん夜の星を」が聞きたくなり買ってみました。CDを一通り聞いてみると知っている曲が多いのに驚くとともに、父親がカーラジオから流れてくるのにあわせて口ずさんでいたのを助手席で聞いていた子供の頃を思い出しました。昭和40年生まれの私は、リアルタイムで坂本九全盛期を知っているわけではありませんが、まだ家の前の道路が舗装されていなかった40年代の前半と父親とキャッチボールをしていた日々を思い出されました。ちなみに、我が家の息子は「ムスタファ」が気に入ったようです。が、彼にとっては単に古い曲の一つに過ぎないようです。
