HurttaHurtta Monsoon Coat, Dog Raincoat, Bilberry, 24 in

Update: I've had it long enough to know it keeps her back, neck and upper body nice and dry even when she does her puppy roll in the wet grass! The only down side is that I use the front hook on her harness most of the time and there is no opening for that so I have to put the harness on over the coat. Pup gets excited when she sees the coat come out since it means a walk!I've only had the coat for a few days - but so far the nicest coat I've had for any of my dogs. It's well designed! The fabric is soft and pliable, not stiff - which is more comfy for my dog. It covers her very well and is very secure on her. Best of all - no velcro - only a secure strap and some elastic that you can tighten down. The velcro in other coats I had would get clogged with dog hair and not work well even when I tried cleaning it and the velcro would eventually start coming off the coat. I also love the generous amount of reflective coating on this coat- we have to walk in the dark a lot this time of year and my pup really shows up. The only difficulty I had with this coat was getting the right size. My husband and I measured her multiple times and decided on a size only to find that it was much too big for her. We got the next size down and it fits great with room to grow since she is a pup.

It is somewhat ridiculous to spend this much money on a dog coat, but FINALLY we have a winner! This coat is beautiful, well made, and it actually covers the whole hind end of my long lean pup. She doesn't mind the rain, but being double coated it takes hours for her to dry.For reference, Astrid is a 2yr old 60lb GSD/husky/mal mix. Her measurements (as instructed for sizing this coat) are 18" neck, 28" chest, 25" back length.I have only 2 very minor complaints:1. The leg straps are CRAZY long and she'd probably end up peeing on them if used, but so far the coat stays in place without them.2. The tag on the coat is the correct size/color (24/blackberry) but the tag attached to the coat says 22/bilberry. I assume someone ordered a few sizes/colors and I got the returns. But, the coat was clean and didn't look like it had been worn so whatever. Amazon needs to do better checking returns in general though.

Ok, so its not perfect, but that's to be expected because of the style. Her lower chest and under belly still get a bit wet, but... easy to put on; only coat that covers her neck (she walks with her head down, sniffing the ground, and she had a long neck and pointy ears - hoods are useless for her); covers her butt/flanks and the leg straps don't 'ride up' (most coats, i don't even use those because of this issue); adjusts for her curly tail (think: husky-like); fits her (she has a wide, deep chest but is otherwise slender); fits over her jk9 harness, or not - adjust just the one strap; fits over underlayers, thick or thin or none - adust just the one strap; keeps her body dry (although we haven't tried a really torrential downpour or bomb cyclone yet, just regular rain and 15-30 mph wind); only lists to the side a very little bit; stays covering her flanks even with strong wind at the back, if the back leg straps are on (yes, in 15-30 mph wind); and she can pee and poop in it, even with back leg straps on! (Although, if windy, I make sure the flaps are moved to the side because they hang low on her). I got a 22". Probably could have fit the size down, but I like the roomyness. She is a taiwanese dog, 50# (yes, very big for that landrace), 21" length, 28" chest, 18" neck at collar, 22" neck above the shoulder blades, height about a border collie size. I usually have to go a size up to fit her deep, wide chest (across the front), and then i still fasten the front loose and the belly is usually way too big. Love this coat - especially the neck! 😁 Mila also likes this coat - at least, she will go out in the rain with it on and will do a 2.5 to 3 mile walk 😁. I definitely recommend it.

I needed a coat to keep my guide dog dry, since bringing a stinking wet dog into a business or restaurant is not very welcomed! This coat keeps my dog completely dry, it feels very soft, and it is thin, so my harness fits over very well. The cords to pull and tighten are easy throughout. The belt that straps on the back to keep the underside dry is easy. Especially for a blind person. This coat is better than I have seen my other blind friends have for their dogs. My only complaint and the only reason I give a 4 star is the back leg straps. I wish I could attach the back legs in without having to lift my dogs legs, and to step into this. I cannot tighten these leg straps, so they do dangle, but they are small and do not seem to bother my dog at all. Since I am using a service animal, I am in a business, with business attire , and I am dealing with wet feet to get the coat off. This coat is well made, soft, light, and I did not think, in the beginning, that it would keep my dog as dry as it does. I would recommend this coat if you wish to keep him dry, and keep the mud off the bottom of your dogs under carriage during those wet and muddy days! You need to go by the size that they say, as it does allow for cinching in the tail area. If your not sure, and need to choose a size up or down, because you are in the middle number, like I was, then going up was my perfect choice. Absolutely great coat! Please think about making the back legs easier to manage for blind people! :) I LOVE my dogs coat!

Wonderful rain coat. Your dog will look very dapper. However there are so many sizes, and your dog may fall into various different styles. After having to return 2 (one too big, one too small) , my tip to everyone, when in doubt about sizing, is go with the back length. The others are more adjustable. Back length is also adjustable, but not as much.

I bought size 22 for both our Heeler/Kelpie and German Shepherd. It covers and fits our Heeler/Kelpie beautifully (covering his tail), but I should've ordered a size larger for our German Shepherd. Even so it fits her pretty well.

20inch size fits perfectly to my 16kg petite Border collie girl. Very lightweight and great quality! I bought Monsoon for daily walk now need to get overall for rough play :) Very satisfied with the purchase and delivery.

Wie immer bin ich von Hurtta Mänteln sehr angetan. Ich kaufe sie seit Jahren.Die Qualität stimmt und über eine Vielzahl an Möglichkeiten die Mäntel anzupassen, gibt es auch da keine Probleme!Bei widrigen Wetterverhältnissen ist ein solches Kleidungsstück ganz praktisch. Alte und kranke Hunde oder die ohne Unterwolle werden gut vor Kälte und Nässe geschützt,- auch der Bauchbereich ist gut abgedeckt.

Gekauft für meinen Zwergpinscher-Mix mit 5,5kg. Laut Tabelle entsprechen dessen Maße (Rücken 35cm, Brust, 40cm, Hals, 30cm) der Gr. 35. Die Jacke war allerdings viel zu groß - trotz der vielen, tollen anpassbaren Features, die der Mantel hat. Die Quali schien sonst aber tiptop und gut verarbeitet & schick ist der Mantel auch. Da es aber auch "nur" eine Regenjacke ist werde ich nochmal ein anderes Modell der Marka bestellen. Dennoch klare Kaufempfehlung :)

Der Regenmantel sitzt sehr gut und ist von guter Qualität. Der Hund ist in seiner Bewegung nicht eingeschränkt und vor Nässe gut geschützt.
