Not very interesting.
The book was slow moving for me. I love Christian mysteries, but it just didn't keep me interested. Too many pages for the story.

Excellent read
This is a great suspense story that captivated me right from the start. Army psychologist Brooke Adams is discharged after a bombing. Sergeant First Class Asher James wants answers for a friend and fellow Army brother who not only dies in the same tragic explosion but is also accused of treason.Collateral Damage is full of mystery, suspense, action, twists and turns, and danger as someone is after Brooke. This story also touches on the topic of PTSD. You don't want to miss out on this series. I'm

First read
This is the first time I’ve ever read this author. It was an interesting story and I liked the characters, there were a few times though when I was totally lost with how things were described. I got a little confused at the beginning with all the different story lines and characters. I may look at reading more.

A FANTASTIC Romantic Suspense Novel I Highly Recommend!
Collateral Damage by Lynette Eason is a story that left me saying, “WHOA!” It was the perfect escape I needed. The storyline pulled me in from page one and wouldn’t let me go. This is one of those Romantic Suspense stories where I held my breath almost the entire time and it kept me turning pages long after I should have been in bed. Brooke and Asher are great protagonists. I appreciate how relatable they are. No, I’ve never been in the military and I don’t have crazy murderers coming after me, but I do know a thing or two about trauma and PTSD. Brooke and Asher each experience their own terrors and handle the aftereffects differently, but they deal with their PTSD in relatable ways. I like their honesty and vulnerability with one another. And, I love how their relationship grows from partners trying to figure things out, to real friendship, to love. As crazy as their adventures are in this story, the pacing of their romance is pretty darn perfect. And speaking of adventures, again all I can say is, “WHOA!” The action in this story is almost non-stop. There are some moments so full of tension and suspense I truly had to remind myself to breathe. This is one Romantic Suspense novel that I wholeheartedly recommend!I purchased a copy of this novel in eBook form from Amazon.com on November 30, 2020, in order to review. In no way has this influenced my review. The opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Thrilling Glance Into the World of Soldiers
Collateral Damage by Lynette Eason is the first book in her new series. The plot line reminds me a lot of a Ronie Kendig novel with all the military members and procedures but still carries the dramatic flair Eason is known for. The suspense keeps the readers guessing to the end. At first, I was a little confused with the subplot because it really had nothing to do with the current action, but keep with it. As the story progresses, Eason does a wonderful job at tying the two stories together. The characters of Asher and Brooke are a wonderful introduction to the beginning of a unique cast of characters. I really enjoyed how Brooke has been done before, but I really liked how Eason made her an ex-soldier herself so she could empathize with the soldiers as she tried to help them with their PSTD. Of course, Eason includes a romantic thread between the characters. It wasn't too overbearing, but there were moments where the romance peak its head. Overall, Collateral Damage by Lynette Eason was a thrilling glance into the world of soldiers with plenty of suspenseful moments and a hint of romance. I really can't wait to read her next book in this series.I received a complimentary copy of Collateral Damage by Lynette Eason from Revell Publishing, but the opinions stated are all my own.

Solid Christian suspense
Started off a bit slow for me, but I think that may have been due more to the fact that I had three books on the go at the time 😄Still, Collateral Damage was a great read and the suspense kept me turning the pages, reluctant to put the book down. As per my personal preference, I really liked the blend of action, suspense, mystery, and romance, where the romance is not the main facet of the story.

suspenseful
I really enjoyed this book. Great story full of twists. I have been getting discouraged reading Christian novels that have been supposedly of the romantic thriller genre. I have found them with unrealistic characters that flirt with each other despite being christians and a suspenseful story in the background. Whereas this book was the opposite.I loved the characters, they weren’t perfect and the way they grew in the relationship was natural and with integrity as Christians should. The drama of the story was the main part and the relationship grew during that. So I’m glad I’ve finally found a Christian author I want to read that won’t make me cringe at the way the characters relate to each other. Looking forward to reading the next book but may have to wait a few days so I can catch up on sleep!!
