SnoStuff 501-201 Black Ski Skin (Polaris)

These ski skins fit my 1994 Polaris Indy Lite GT. The skins slide with less friction than the old steel skis by themselves. The skins are wider than the steel skis, so they provided some additional floatation on top of the snow. As far as performance, the trade off is that the skis don't respond as quickly in a turn. Overall I would say they are a benefit.The skins are held on to the ski by the wear bars. The only downside to installation was that the wear bars wouldn't bolt right over the ski skins without some modification due to the thickness of the skins themselves. I used a dremmel to mill out some of the plastic on the back of the hole where the wear bar goes through the ski skin. That, coupled with a little bit of bending on the wear bar got it to fit snugly together.

Not the quality that they where years back

Great product. Fit my sled perfectly, no additional drilling needed. Shipped quickly. Took the sled for a test ride, and it performs wonderfully (with new 6" Woody's carbides (which also fit perfectly)).

Great way to protect the older metal ski's. Easy install, been installing them for folks for many years. A must if you have metal ski's.
