Insta360ONE R Sports Video Adaptive Action Camera IPX8 Waterproof Voice Control (1-inch Edition)

I bought the Insta360 One X after getting frustrated with the Rylo, which I owned previously. Rylo is well known for their fantastic software but I constantly struggled with terrible video in low light, and AWFUL photos in any light!The Insta360 One X is easily the best 360 camera that you can buy today. It isn't perfect, but the support and responsiveness of their online team (especially in their official Facebook groups) gives me confidence that they are listening to their customers and gathering our feedback for implementation in future firmware upgrades.Photos and videos are both a huge upgrade compared to the Rylo. Videos are brighter and photos are 1000% better than the Rylo. You can also transfer your recorded media to the One X app via Wi-Fi, which makes it even more convenient to post content quickly onto social media (no need to carry the cable with you everywhere!)The iPhone app itself is also good. Editing video is intuitive and exporting it is easy. If you're looking for a device where you can quickly curate content for social media, you seriously can't beat the One X. The one feature that I wished the app had (but doesn't yet) is the ability to take still photos from the videos that you film. Yes, it is possible to screenshot instead but I'm hoping we'll see this feature added soon.The device is NOT waterproof, so you will need to dock it into one of their cases if you want to use it underwater, or somewhere where it may get wet (including rain). I would like to see a GoPro-style 'action' version of this camera next time which doesn't require the case. It's also worth bearing in mind that the audio isn't perfect (windy conditions especially are a problem), but if you intend on using your footage accompanied with music then this won't be a major concern.I also fully recommend buying the selfie stick. This one accessory alone unlocks so many possibilities - your content will definitely thank you for it!Overall, the One X excels at being easy to use and delivering great results. It doesn't require 2 memory cards (like the GoPro Fusion does) and it much cheaper. If you are looking to purchase your first or upgrade your 360 camera to something which can bring your social media content to life, I can definitely recommend this device.

The media could not be loaded.  I have been using the original Insta360 One X for over a year and it's added a wonderful new dimension to my outdoor videos. I get loads of comments asking how the camera just seems to float. The selfie stick and the software do some kind of magic and the results are awesome. I decided to upgrade to the Insta360 One R twin edition as it's a significant improvement over the One X. The One R is waterproof, it's modular, so I no longer need to take the GoPro...I just switch the camera unit and film crisp 4K footage. The 360 camera module is my favourite. It literally films everything, and the easy to use app allows me to frame the scene or even track myself. The different FOV mean I can show all the landscapes off in my videos, but if I want to zoom in a bit...I can easily do so. I've not used the microphone port yet as the adapter is on order but the improved audio will be a game changer for me as I can use this with my Rode Wireless Go. So far...so good. Great image, great image stabilisation and the fact you can quickly edit on your phone makes it a winner for what I need for my Youtube channel

I researched this camera for a long time before making the purchase and was torn between a go pro fusion or the Insta360 One X. Having owned a Go Pro hero 3 in the past I always found editing a little tedious on go pro software but the One X claimed to be much more user friendly than the fusion which swayed me towards it.The packaging it arrived in was up there with any premium tech product and setup was very easy. The camera is so small and light compared to the Fusion that I was immediately impressed. The quality of the footage was great (see video) but the ability to edit on my phone or Mac made it a camera that I will actually use and that’s what counts for me. There is no stitching footage together and it’s so simple to use. I have even taught myself a few neat editing tricks without reading a thing.The build quality is great and battery life was spot on considering the small size. I bought the bullet time and invisible selfie stick which are must have accessories. The images/videos that hide the selfie stick are amazing and all my friends asked how I had done that. I would really recommend this type of camera to anyone really. Extreme sports enthusiasts will get the most out of it but the casual user can also tell great stories with this camera. I haven’t tried it in low light but as a photographer, cameras with small sensors can’t physically compete with DSLR quality so I haven’t even tried it.I will certainly be buying the waterproof housing before my next skiing trip.

Es una cámara que me había gustado mucho al principio de usar, después de un año una actualización de un firmware la daño, la envié a Hong Kong y la aduana la retuvo y lleva una semana sin saber su estatus.

Ich dachte die Insta360 wäre eine gute und billige Alternative zur GO Pro. Leider hat sich herausgestellt, dass es wie immer einen Grund gibt wieso Produkte eben billiger sind als anderen. Das Menü ist nach meinen schlecht und kaum intuitiv. Die Sprachsteuerung funktioniert kaum bis schlecht. Wenn man sie aktiviert hat kann es sein, dass Nebengeräusche den Befehl geben die Aufnahme zu starten oder zu stoppen.Das schlimmste ist, dass es wohl einen Bug gibt, dass eine beliebige SD Karte aufhört zu funktionieren. Dann kommt der Error Code auf dem Display "SD card too slow". Auch bei High-Speed SD Karten tritt dieses Problem willkürlich auf. Diese Meldung kommt nach einer beliebigen Aufnahmedauer auf. Manchmal nach 2 Minuten, manchmal nach 20 aber oft auch gar nicht. Das heisst, dass die Kamera absolut unzuverlässig ist und man muss dauernd Angst haben, dass die Aufnahme grundlos stoppt. Dieses Problem besteht wohl schon seit Jahren und es gibt viele Meldungen im Internet dazu. Offensichtlich scheint sich niemand von Insta dafür zu interessieren, sonst wäre der Fehler längst behoben. Ich kann in jedem Fall nur abraten diese Kamera zu kaufen und das war auf jeden Fall das letzte Produkt was ich von diesem Unternehmen gekauft habe.

Very nice offer from Insta360! It's worth noting that this cam uses a modular approach, so you can swap the lens to suit the footage you want to record. This camera is bundled with 2 lenses : a regular one comparable to any other action camera PLUS a 360 lens that will allow you to shoot in 360 and choose the viewing angle later while processing the video. You can currently purchase a higher end lens made from Leica. You'll be happy to know that accessories for this cam are quite affordable.This cam has built in image stabilization and slow motion. Their proprietary software provides you with a plethora of tools to edit your video, check out their website for more information on that topic. As with any other action cam, this one is waterproof and shock resistant to some extent. If you are upgrading from an old GoPro like I do, you'll be happy to know that all your previous accessories are compatible with this little marvel of a cam. Definitely the best action cam money can buy!

I really like the picture quality from this camera. I have both the 360 mod and the 4K mod. Both give a great picture and are easy to get into premiere pro to edit. I'm using three stock batteries and they both last long enough for what I need them for, I can see how the extended battery might be useful in the future. but for now the standard batteries are great. The camera is holding up very well for what I use it for which is recording hockey games. I have not yet gotten into deep water but I have gotten it splashed a couple of times and it works fine.I use this camera for videoing my kids hockey games. I have a goalie that we mount the camera on the glass behind them and it catches the entire ice except for the two corners right there by the goal. I use the 360 mod for my younger child who plays cross ice and I can get the entire game using the 360 mod. It also makes posting the videos to YouTube kind of fun. Because parents can use controls to follow their player on the ice.If I had a complaint about the camera it would actually be with the app that insta360 pushes out for use with Android. In my experience the app does not work very well on Android so I do most of my stuff in post as opposed to using the filters and settings in the app.
