Hill's Select Long Grain White Rice (2lb bag)

With the rona still going on and still working from home and still cooking from home, I've run out of rice again. I wanted to get away from Goya products and this popped up in my search. Seemed to have good reviews so I tried it. I soaked and rinsed and there seemed to be less cloudiness in the water. Cooked as usual and maybe my imagination but I liked the flavor and taste.

Saute shallots in butter until soft and golden, add rinsed rice and mixed thoroughly with the shallots until each grain becomes translucent, add chicken stock, salt to taste, along with a couple of bay leaves, simmer and cover over low heat for 20 minutes. Leaving covered, remove cooked rice from heat for 10 minutes, then, toss with a tablespoon or two of additional butter, a grating of fresh nutmeg, freshly ground black pepper and a handful of freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano (parmesan) cheese. Toss gently to combine. The dish was perfect, the rice was perfect, a cross between risotto and pilafi!

My husband & I eat rice on a regular basis and this rice is distinctly better than what's out in the marketplace.First thing I noticed was how clean and white it cooked up. Incredibly fluffy and very flavorful.I've never been excited about rice. Just thought rice was rice.Evidently, I've never had great rice 'til now.Good job Hill family! Glad I found you.

This is my first time eating Hill's rice and I liked the rice very much. Normally, I eat Jasmine or Basmati, so the change was welcome.

This rice is no ordinary, grocery store rice. It has a firm texture with just enough bite, after being cooked, so it's never mushy. Also it tastes VERY fresh, an enhances any you put it with. Tasty!

We had it for the first time for dinner tonight and it was easy to make and delicious. I cooked it in 2 cups (16 oz) of chicken broth as I always cook rice in chicken broth rather than water.

This rice is amazing!! I’ve always been a fan of rice and Hill’s Select will be my go to brand from now on. This family farm is easy to support!
