On his new album, "Dounia Tabolo", Boubacar Traoré has decided to bring in musicians from the Southern States of the USA he had met on tour: Cedric Watson on violin and washboard, and Corey Harris on guitar, together with Leyla McCalla on cello and vocals. His intention was to change the coloration of his songs, while conserving their original character. From blues to folk, Cajun to Zydeco music, his new traveling companions have provided a touch of folly and swing, blues depth and discreet elegance, in a repertoire of old (Dounia Tabolo, Kanou, ) and new numbers (Ben de Kadi, Mousso,..). More than ever, Boubacar Traoré is showing himself to be the living, vital connection between Mali and the Mississippi.

Stunning Music
I love the music by Boubacar Traore. The melodies are beautiful, but his command of the guitar is sublime. The collaboration with vincent bucher is nothing short of stunning. I love this album and so would any lover of music the guys are genuises.

Great Album
Have got quite a few of his cd's and really like his music. This is more blues/jazz with a laid back feel to it with some really good harmonica playing. Unfortunately the cd I bought doesn't have the insert so I've no idea who any of the backing musicians are which is a pain as they are the business. Another great album from a guy who deserves more attention.
