I tried to make my own connectors but just could not get the crimps right. Decided to just go out and find someone who makes these connectors. They are of good quality and the crimps are good. The wire is stiff but flexible enough for my projects. They come in 2, 3, 4, and 5 connectors with a 5" wire. The only issues would be the color coding seems backwards, I am use to Black, Red, White, Green and they shipped with Yellow, White, Red, Black seen from the clip side. Just keep that in mind when wiring up your Adafruit projects.

Hard to tell how large these connectors are. I needed a few to mate with an existing installation. The ones I bought are significantly smaller and the only way to use them will be to cut the one on my original unit and splice two into place. Not a problem, just an annoyance.
