True Radiance: Finding Grace in the Second Half of Life

Wonderful Resource for Prime-Time Women!
What a gift! Lisa Mladinich's pleasant, engaging, uplifting tone reminds us that, as she puts it, "the second half of life is a time of building on the past, growing in virtue, and deepening our connection with God, the source and summit of all beauty." I found myself dogearing about every tenth page so that I could go back and spend some time in prayer and contemplation with what she had to say. Lisa encourages us to embrace who we, women in that second half, are... and how we can use the struggles and joys with which we have been blessed to help others. While I enjoyed the book through, the final chapter: All Things New--Taking Stock and Moving Forward in particular spoke to me as Lisa encouraged us to leave the past with the Lord. I also admired the author's openness about her own challenges and faith journey. Blessings on this ministry!

This was a book I found both a good read and good for meditation
This was a book I found both a good read and good for meditation, It's one I will be keeping around, using from time to time. Although I might be further along in life, this book still gave me lots to contemplate. Excellent for one to read, but it would be great for book clubs and good friends to study together. I found this to be a book you want to talk over with someone, and it would be good for bringing in Scripture in our lives.

True Radiance
I was surprised to discover that Catholic ideals were so prevalent in the book. I was expecting a more non denominational approach. This truly gave me some answers and some things to think about.

Much needed words for women
There is no other book like this one.We women are virtually assaulted by a barrage of makeover products, supplements designed at preserving youthful appearance, diet and exercise programs. What we really need is an acceptance of the inevitable --God's plan for our bodies -- to prepare our souls. Finally someone gets it and gives us what we need. Real words of wisdom here.

A book to be read, savored, and read again
Covering such topics as beauty (interior and exterior), spiritual motherhood, friendship, self-care and interior peace, Lisa Mladinich takes aim in this book at the idea (which I've bought into more than I might care to admit) that women "of a certain age" have less to offer. In True Radiance, Lisa explains just how much more we have to give.

Buyer Beware!! Only the Christian Perspective !!
I ordered this book because it was advertised as a book on gracefully aging. I feel completely mislead because this book is about the authors relationship with Jesus, Mary and God. While some people might find this helpful I was disappointed because had I known this I NEVER would have ordered this book. This book is about Christianity and aging and should be advertised as such I wish I could get my money back !!
