editing outdated
Focus on Pronunciation 1 (Book & CD) The book now has a new version. This version is no longer used by teachers. Not changed, nor returned because it is not worth. The cost of postage is high, but I would get my money in credit or discount on amazon.com

Focus on Pronunciation 1, Beginning (Second Edition)
My wife was skeptical she could receive it in time to do her any good. She was very pleased with the prompt delivery and condition of the book.

Excellent texts
The Focus on Pronunciation books by Linda Lane are excellent coursebooks for the classroom. The layout is clear and logical, and I found the full front drawings of lip position particularly helpful. (I never could make the profile view intelligible to students, but lip position is more than half the battle.) She utilizes the standard techniques, but also has some interesting ideas for activities. The rhythmn and intonation sections are a bit skimpy; you'll probably want to do more. Overall, a solid, logical, clear student text.
